I remember hearing this for the first time. I knew Pink Flag inside and out, and wasn't sure what I was getting into. It was obviously the same band, and yet so obviously different. And so creepy.
I watched that concert in 1979 at Rockpalast-Studios in Cologne. Being gay I must say that WIRE are not only one of the greatest most influential bands of all time, but Colin Newman is one of the sexiest men I´ve ever witnessed in the fuckin music biz. We have a saying in here Germany: "Rage makes (some people) handsome." The "angrier Colin acts around, the more his sex appeal grows. Few people have this charisma....(probably godgiven or from the genes, which is all the same).
