I would LOVE to know what she's singing. But I don't care at all. Just hearing her sing in this beautiful manner... It's enough to take your breath away <3
@Serinia4melodic I disagree. Nearly ALL Therion vocalists are trained opera singers, and some pop-opera singers also are opera singers. Lori Lewis is an example of that. She's the vocalist of Therion and she's a coloratura.
It is a very beautiful aria and I am so proud of Tarja's rendition. She was my inspiration to start studying classical singing. When I'm getting lazy, this kind of performance of hers put me back to it with all my strength.
She was also the first reason for me to study English, and you might notice I'm still learning, however, I'd like to apologize for any mistakes :p
@MementoMori1993 Yeah, I think so. In the beggining, we all have flat, ugly voices, but with practice it grows to something beautiful and pleasant. Everyone I know that tried to learn, did it. So I believe everybody can learn classical singing :)
@Guilherme7530 lol:)) It depends on every singer. I had a veiled and beautiful voice when I started classical singing. But not everybody can sing opera... you must be able to bring your voice in resonance. create a big sound. If you can`t do that naturally... you`ll loose to much time training and sing Zerlina at 40 y old:))))) instead of the 20s
@Serinia4melodic Well, I got a really good resonance with little training, my teacher herself said it. I don't know if there's people who can't do that, but it wouldn't stop people from singing. Lack of resonance wouldn't be important for a chamber singer, or a singer in a band, as an example.
@Guilherme7530 you said classical singing. The final purpose of classical singing is opera singing usually... you can sing baroque but there isn`t much of an audience. I`m just curious because I`m the only one that can sing classical in my year. Of course volume isn`t an issue when you can mic
@Serinia4melodic I know, but people can use classical techniques just about anywhere, and symphonic metal singers are a good example of that. So I don't think it is a big problem, still, I understand what you mean.
@Guilherme7530 I think they use some of the classical technique, but still symphonic metal singers or pop-opera singers never achieve the operatic timbre needed for opera. How long have you studied? Maybe we can chat more?:)
@Serinia4melodic Well, I think Lori Lewis achieved a really good operatic timbre. She is the vocal from Therion, and I think she could easily be an opera singer. I've been studying for the last four years, which is little time, but it's something. Yeah, we can chat more :)

I admire all people from another country who can say something in Czech. It's hard language and for Finns it's just impossible say some Czech sentence.. And she sings Czech songs and talk Czech at concerts... Incredible.. I love her
@predy3 i am not sure if i agree. Czech is easy for me at least. Finnish is very different language they dont have the same amount of constants as czech. I wanan see finnish version of song to the moon
This is one of the mist beautiful thing she ever sang. She is really happy you definitely can see it. Btw I like the make up trace that shows she cried, it's cute ^.^

@andreez1 Pisen Rusalky O Mesiku (Song of the Moon), Rusalka's aria from Rusalka
Mesiku na nebi hlubokem O moon high up in the deep, deep sky,
Svetlo tvé daleko vidi, Your light sees far away regions,
Po svete bloudis sirokém, You travel round the wide,
Divas se v pribytky lidi. Wide world peering into human dwellings

@SingForMeMyLove Mesicku, postuj chvili O, moon, stand still for a moment,
reckni mi, kde je muj mily Tell me, ah, tell me where is my lover!
Rekni mu, stribmy mesicku, Tell him. please, silvery moon in the sky,
me ze jej objima rame, That I am hugging him firmly,
aby si alespon chvilicku That he should for at least a while
vzpomenul ve sneni na mne. Remember his dreams!

@SingForMeMyLove Zasvet mu do daleka, Light up his far away place,
rekni mu, rekni m kdo tu nan ceka! Tell him, ah, tell him who is here waiting!
O mneli duse lidska sni, If he is dreaming about me,
at'se tou vzpominkou vzbudi! May this remembrance waken him!
Mesicku, nezhasni, nezhasni! O, moon, don't disappear, disappear!

She barely knows the song (check 3:10) but already does it better than most seasoned primadonnas.
The cadence between 2:44 and 2:50 is insanely hard yet she does it smiling.

I am just stunned :D thinking of the scene in Moulin Rouge where Christian sings: Every day I love you more and more. That's my case :D
