The form and beauty create a structure to find the Divine. It is trance-inducing, it stops the mind. And in that stillness, there is God. Children know this, and whirl because it is wonderful!
Maybe you shouldn't say it like that...everyone has their own way of worshiping God, and even though I'm not a Sufi, I think that some aspects of their meditation brings their heart closer to Allah-
and get this- Sufis spread Islam to Asia, Russia, Southeast Asia- and more-more than the "molvis" did- they made great contributions than we Sunnis give them credit for.
Well actually it's not a matter of choice to worship God in "your or my way" because in Islam we should worship him the way he "ORDERED" us to do! and remember if you asked a pagan why do you worship a stone or a statue they will simply reply to brig us closer to the Creator = Allah!!! so it's kinda dangerous to commit an action and call it an act of obedience to Allah without any reference.
By the way it's absolutely wrong to give these guys over here the credit for that.. Sufism was not a bit like this in the old times .. and didn't show in any authentic book that Sufi's had altered the way of worshiping! they simply out casted this life for the sake of the afterlife... BUT THESE GUYS HOLD CONCERTS DAAAAAAAAAAMN
Dude, I agree with you 100% in that Allah tells us to worship Him in a certain way- and yes-we have to. Yes, the Sufis in the old days were the mystics of Islam-and they have extended the lines-you're right- I just don't want any of the ummah to fight eachother-we shouldn't be divided in a world like this- we have to stick together in the respect that we all worship Allah, our Creator. We have to stick together, and fight in an intelligent way-I'm sorry if I said anything to offend you.
True worshiping is when you think of God in whichever way you can. Its pointless if one prays 5 times a day and all he thinks during the prayers is "When is it gonna end.." instead of thinking of God. It will be too mechanical.
Different ppl have different ways of worshipping God. None are wrong. Its just the perception. This dance was created out of inspiration. But as time went by, ppl started to learn it and it became a form of art.
well my freind , turning around urslef is a kind of dancing emmm well its not about just turning, the music, the woive of the singer ur body mooving allow ur soul to be more wz allah emmm as in imagine ur soul has left ur body to hug god s spirit 's
so the turning thing is traditional not more,u can dance as like as u want but the important is to deeply listen to the music and the words of then song.

And anything to do with art is divine.
