Yes! We'll never know, not god damn clue! God, Chris Matthews is such a douchebag... but nowhere near the levels of douchery as the pigman, Ed Schultz.
Another thing is this wasn't truly an act of "terrorism." It was an act of hostility... act of war... against this flag, this military, and this country by an hostile Islamic adversary embedded in this country. One out of many.
@rodeo179 because he didnt have any faith, idiot. Nor did the Oklahoma bomber - wasnt Christian though there is compelling evidence that McVeigh had two Muslim accomplices - swept under the rug by the Clinton administration.
@rodeo179 The "Tuscan killer" never expressed any kind of religious belief, whereas islamic nutcase Nidal Husan did! - even while he was gunning down his own colleagues in cold blood. May be this is the reason why people are talking about his religlious beliefs. Also no one in their right minds would say the "Tuscan killer" was driven by an insane belief system. He was driven by nothing except his own warped mind. Both however should fry.
muslims are demonized and hence, the current atmosphere.. you demonize to rationalize violence against them (Iraqis, Afghanis, Pakistanietc), illegal prosecution, etc
@oxopig no sir, you are the intelligent one on this board as evident by your paranoid comment. travel and communicate with others. actually, learn to communicate first cuz it looks like stupidity runs in your upbringing.
Just because someone says Allahu akbar it does not mean that they are religously motivated. Anyone who is raised in a Muslim fashion will use this phrase as a courage-giver whether they are right or wrong in their actions. They may also use it in other ways. But if this guy was crazy so what? If some crazy white 'christian guy'' screamed out Jesus is lord before he did something crazy does that make him a real religious extremist? We won't know untl Mr. Nidal Hassan speaks for himself.
When someone commits violence in the name of Christianity, his religion is always a side-issue. When someone commits violence in the name of Islam, his religion is always the focus. The people who benefit most from political correctness in the US are the majorities. The whites, the straights, and the Christians.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:
The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.(Koran 41:6985)
AtheistRhypocrites. That is NOT in the Quran. Where did you get this from? That is not from the Quran it is from a Hadeeth. Who told you that this is in the Quran? I am a Quranist Muslim and don't support hadeeths. You should either erase this or correct it. It is not in the Quran.
O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. (Quran 5:51)
this IS in the Quran. ANd the word 'wali' does NOT mean friend. It means 'patron', someone whose support and aid you both need and welcome. THe QUran tells those who are Muslim to rely on each other alone, but to be fair, just and friendly to all. Do not distort the Quran.
@AtheistRhypocrites They mean don't take jews or christians as brothers in religion, because they are not or your religion. "And he amongst you that turns to them is of them." it doesn't mean friendship it means to turn to there religion.
well it does matter - IF someone shouts "God is great" before killing people, he kills in the name of God. If a guy shouts "God is great" before shooting women or abortion doctors it is a religiously connotated crime.
could be. But IF he spoke Allahu akhbar this hints at him being religiously motivated. That would make his crime a religious terror act, possibly aside personal despair and conflict of interest, or pure loneliness, or experience of harassment by peers. Many terrorists experienced the same - terrorism rarely is built on purely ideological ground.
Nihad, rhymes with Jihad! It was a terrorist attack!
It was a Jihad that took place. I'm tired of this heavy accented-spoke hole for CAIR, that its isolated incident-please...talk to your people in your mosques...STOP KILLING AMERICANS!.beating around the bush!..Religion is the motive...you guys want to fight, fight like men...stop this coward shooting.
CAIR is a tax free non-profit org that Holder supports. If Hasan had strapped a bomb to himself, the 'terrorist or not' debate would be a moot point.
This was the first terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. The Army needs to rethink their 'don't ask don't tell' policies, especially when the suspects have names similar to detainees at Gitmo!
If a sergeant in WWII had gunned down his own men yelling 'Heil Hitler' I'm pretty sure we'd all know how to react. Our president sadly doesn't.

CAIR is nothing more than a fucking terrorist enabling group and chris matthews is a pandering jackass.
Terrorists are, indeed, disturbed individuals. That's why Hasan wanted to become an army psychiatrist in the first place. He wanted to influence/brainwash his patients, who are depressed soldiers who just came back from war.
Muslims have done that to convert hopeless/depressed convicts, like Mike Tyson, in jails.
He even posted his support to suicide bombing on the internet, come on... there's must be a religious motive here.
A disturbed individual who felt was justified in his actions because of his religion.
If it's a bastardised version of islam, then come out and say it. But to act as if religion wasn't a factor at all is simply ignorant. It was a factor.
This swine muslim probably said the same about the WTC.

Actually no. Not at all. Akbar is the superlative form of kabir which means great. Akbar means greatEST. The phrase Allahu Akbar is composed of two words only. Allah = The God (as in The One and Only God) and Akbar = Greatest. The verb "to be" is not used explicitly in the present indicative tense and is taken to be understood when a noun is followed by an adjective without a definite article. Therefore the phrase Allahu Akbar means. The God is Greatest.
Of course that's a literal translation and is the equivalent of the phrase "God is great." Because when we say God is great, we aren't merely saying He is GREAT, but that He is the GREATEST (and ONLY He since He is the only god, THE-God = AL-Lah) . For one to say "our god is greater than" the statement would have to have a possessive for the word Allah, the word KABIR instead of Akbar with an -an ending, then the word men which is basically "than"--
The g-d is Greatest indicates the beleif in a PANTHEON of gods...not ONE g-d....this is the truth of the matter ...that muslims are PAN-THEISTS who do not have their own original document...they have one that is stolen, and perverted stolen from the Jewish Holy Books and perverted to suit the pedophilic mass murdering prophets behaviour
"Allahu Akbar," an Islamic exclamation called the Takbir in Arabic which means "Allah is the Greatest".
