    Great help.

    Much appreciated

  • how do you identify the sustituent groups anyone?

  • I dont get what shes saying nor do i even understand her lesson well! uh now ill be called stpid for not learning alkane and stuff which isnt fair cuz im new and never heard of alkane or a whatever alkene

  • the iso butane written on corner is wrong...... cuz the valency of central carbon is not satisfied..

  • In the isopropyl structural formula, shouldn't it be two CH3 linked to a CH instead of a CH2?

  • @MrBooMJr The difference between propyl and isopropyl is the attachment of the two end carbons to different central carbons. In propyl, the CH3 molecule is attached to a different CH2 than in isopropyl. Since carbon has 4 valence electrons, all ends of carbon chains must be surrounded by 3 hydrogens to fulfill the carbon's need of 4 bonds. Therefore, when the CH3 from the propyl group changes its bond to the different CH2 as seen in the isopropyl group, the carbon from CH2 attaches to another

  • @MrBooMJr hydrogen to become CH3 and fulfill its need for 4 bonds. Isopropyl is a variant of Propyl in that, the amount of carbons are the same (propyl group) but the number of hydrogens differ according to its position on the molecule.
