Listen to this and "Wait Til Tomorrow" and THEN try telling me that the Banana Splits was just another '60s kids' show. I won't believe a word you say.
You can get season 1 on DVD in R2 and R4 regions. But not R1. You need a multi-zone world wide player to play R2 and R4 DVD's in a R1 region. I live in Australia and we use R4.
I guess it is much easier to show half hour programs than hour programs. And you can spread out 36 30-minute shows much longer than 18 1-hour programs on TV. On DVD, this does not matter. I watched the 36 30-minute shows on DVD over 6 viewing nights with 6 30-minute episodes per viewing night. It would of been simply 6 viewing nights of 3 1-hour episodes instead. Back in the 1970's there was no DVD's around!
I'm having flashbacks of my early childhood......I'm having flashbacks of my early childhood......I'm having flashbacks of my early childhood...........
THE BANANA SPLITS was orignally an hour long show from when it aired on Saturday morning tv for two seasons 1968-70 and it was the BANANA SPLITS ADVENTURE HOUR. Why is it that when the SPLITS went into syndication it was reduced to a half an hour show?
I'm Gonna Find A Cave By: The Banana Splits (Buddy Scott - Jimmy Radcliffe) Gonna find a cave for me and you – woah, yeh Where we can sing and play if we want to Far away on a hidden hill We won’t bug out (?) even pay a single bill (scat) I’m gonna find a cave Yeah! Gonna find a cave where we can hide (Gonna find a cave where we can hide) Everything we crave will be inside (Everything we crave will be inside)
Me and you and lots of goodies there If I want I can pull you by your hair (scat) I’m gonna find a cave (scat) Gonna find a cave where we’ll be free, yeh (Gonna find a cave where we’ll be free) Where I can squeeze on you and you can hug on me (I can squeeze on you and you can hug on me) We all in a never, never land I’m gonnna be your ever-lovin’ cave man (scat) I’m gonna find a cave Sure gonna find a cave now
I used to love it when Snorky would reform himself from a cardboard cutout and then go absolutely mental... oh and not forgetting that donkey from Arabian Nights who I think was called Zazoom???
He looks a lot better here than he does in the recent remake, although you could argue that the current guy would do a better job playing keyboard in the updated costume

See this just shows how much TV owned in the old days, if this show was from the 00's this song would be pop punk song sounding like Good Charlotte,
