You can get season 1 on DVD in R2 and R4 regions. But not R1. You need a multi-zone world wide player to play R2 and R4 DVD's in a R1 region. I live in Australia and we use R4.

I guess it is much easier to show half hour programs than hour programs. And you can spread out 36 30-minute shows much longer than 18 1-hour programs on TV. On DVD, this does not matter. I watched the 36 30-minute shows on DVD over 6 viewing nights with 6 30-minute episodes per viewing night. It would of been simply 6 viewing nights of 3 1-hour episodes instead. Back in the 1970's there was no DVD's around!

THE BANANA SPLITS was orignally an hour long show from when it aired on Saturday morning tv for two seasons 1968-70 and it was the BANANA SPLITS ADVENTURE HOUR. Why is it that when the SPLITS went into syndication it was reduced to a half an hour show?
