My dog, Scout, died 3 weeks ago do to a seizure. All I can say is enjoy your pets while they are still around. It's hard to adjust without him. RIP Scouters
my dog had a bad seizure about a week ago and nearly died and today he had about 4 more and there really bad he just lays on his side and starts stiffening up and drool goes everywere i dont know what to do and its terrifying
Thank you for posting this video. Our family just had a new addition, Sully, a two year old male German Shepherd. He has been with us 2 weeks and he has already filled a void my Bridgett, Choco Lab, left empty 4 years ago. He talks and hugs and even lightly pinches to show affection. He's awesome... He has a very similar seizure except he lays on his side and his head goes back. I don't know how long his will last just because I usually interupt it by talking to him. 3 times now.
My German Shepherd has the same thing except much worse than your GSD is taking them and he is on Phenobarbital 4 times a day and he takes fits once a month and even with the tablets it still not making a diffrence how many do give your dog?
Phenobarbital how many are you giving him? my GSD is having the same but alot worse we have to hold him down while talking them and his jaw opens so wide you think its going to snap i am giving my dog 4 Tabs a day and he has a fit every month with the tablets i don't see a diffrence it is still the same so please can you get back to me on this
I hope Reyna is doing better. I am blind and have seizures and am hearing imp. My guide dog is my best friend and guardian to me- i could never imagine my Umbro having a seizure.. but Umbro response to me having a seizure or about to have one.
Thank you for your comments. Reyna is doing much better now - no seizures since September 07. She took Phenobarbital for a while, but it made her sick. She's been off the meds completely since February. It sounds like you're very lucky to have Umbro - best wishes to you both!
my german shepherd is 9 years old and get seizures tot, but, the good thing is that she haven't had one for 1 year and 6 months, and counting, knock on wood, and yes it does breaks my heart to see her go in seizures
My German shepherd had epilepsy and I tell you its the hardest most heartbreaking thing to see.I loved my dog so much,he died at nearly 6 years old. He was very very beautiful. Please Don't stop loving an epileptic dog, give them lots of comfort and please get as much info as possible on what you can do to help them. Diet is very important and being loving to them are the most important things you can do. All the people who have dogs with epilepsy I send you and your dogs my love and support.

Congratulations on being seizure free for so long! We're at six months of no seizures, paws crossed it stays that way.
