Since the NHRA has gone to 1000 ft in the wake of Scott Kalittas's death, we will most likely never see another record run like this. However,i'm always hopeful
I was there that day and thought it was a wrap until Melanie put Dougie on the trailer. I was pulling for the Kallita camp but can't deny the Finals that day were just awesome. They earned it with that pass.
i was there... and it sucked.. ive been pulling for dougy for a long time... no dening AJ is the master... and blaine was my fave of the time and would of had the championship no sweat. very comemorative of bernstien to give the trophy to AJ that season.
I was there that day and I will never forget it.I just kept screaming "he did it,he did it, he did it" and crying and hugging my father who was with me,and throwing my hands to the sky and thanking God for letting not just me but all the fans who were there that day.
This has to be the greatest pass of all time. Alan Johnson is incredible to be able to pull that off and Tony did exactly what he needed to do too. The only thing that compares is the Ormsby/Amato final in '90.
let it go back to the days of true "unlimited nirto" and it will happen. shit, it'll happen in the next 5 years or sooner. NOW, will we ever see a 3.99???? hmm?

ehm guyes alan johnson can easy make it run faster BUTH the track is the most important thing if the track aint good then the race aint good...
they wont come mutch longer if they aint getting a way to make the tracks better,,¨
and the 90% nitro thing aint making the biggest different exept they arent have to make so mutch compretion on the pistons than on the 85%
in the end the most of it counts on the track
