If the hemi kept on the gas it would be an easy 3 or more car lengths at about 100mph. Towards the end before they let off you see the magnum really pullin hard.

The Ford Mustang is a way better car and have a whole lot of aftermarket parts compared to dodge,mopar, chrysler etc. So race the 2011 v6 mustang and see how far u would lose then, and the 2011 mustang 5.0 will beat any dodge stock from stock and don't even try to compare a hennessey version because the 2011 mustang salleen has 1000 HP. @gtdrummerdude according to all my friends that have them. bone stock 06 mustang gt 5peed ran 13.6 and range to 13.9's depending on whos driving. that was when they were stock now most are turbo'd or sniffin the juice for 11's. my friend jay who usualy drives his low 10 sec fox mustang coupe got the 08 with drag radials to run 13.20's speed shifting. you must be in colorado or sumthin

My '82 notch averages 14.50s or 14.60s @ 95-96 mph and I lost by about 3 car lengths to an '08 GT 5 speed with a handful of bolt ons (ported intake manifold, cold air kit, pullies, headers, full exhaust, and a few other things) plus a tune. The guy was a killer driver, shifting at about 6800 rpm.I have also seen dozens of them run mid 14s @ 98 mph at the strip, and have kept up with just as many stock ones on the road.
@gtdrummerdude The altitude at the strip I race at is 1470 ft and the air is pretty dry and hot here. Actually, the Red Barron VW bug made his best ever pass and set the 1/4 mile world record for bugs at the very dragstrip i'm reffering too, so it can't be that bad as far as the southwestern U.S. goes.

4500 lbs with me in the car is no light vehicle.
When I went to the track I ran way slower than I should have (slower than what i should've ran "stock"), and as a result was at 15.1. There was a V6 mustang running 15.6s. Not too far behind.
Maybe I should get some decent tires.
Next time I'm hoping for 14.3 or so. I got my tuner and exhaust now, so my car now falls into the "pissed off" category. :P

But truthfully, how sure are you that was an R/T? I heard the exhaust and it sounded loud, but so would a V6 with any aftermarket exhaust (or even resonator chopped) when you're right next to it.
The front badge sits higher than the trim, which means that it's one of two things. An 05 Mag, or a 3.5L badge. The 06-08s had hemi badges even with the trim.

When you compare a 19,995 dollar Mustang V6.. to the lowest end V8 Charger for 30k.. The Mustang is by far the best, cheapest muscle around.. If you compare dollar for dollar.. You could buy the Shelby Super Charger or really any S.C. Or Turbo made for the 4.0 V6 engine..for 5k.. only have 26K in the V6 and have 350 to 400 HP.. Thats a REAL VALUE !

ummm... apparently you need to read your stats. The STOCK v6 stang does a pretty respectable 1/4 mile under 15 (14.6-14.8). It doesn't take much to bring it close to 13's, then a little more to get under 13's. The R/T Dodges are heavy cars with heavy engines... that's it.
first off, the regular R/T magnum does a 14.3 14.4 sec 1/4 mile. you can be heavy all you want, but power is power regaurdless what the body of the car looks like, i have seen a AMG grimlen run a 10. now second off your giving the 220hp RWD 3500lbs mustan too fast a 1/4, i say this because the SUBI WRX with 235hp does an AWD launch and hits 14.4 in teh 1/4.
It doesn't matter. Check out the track runs... I guarantee you will see a v6 mustang run under 15. We can play sideline racing all day. But it all comes down to the track.

now with that car only being 220hp V6 and weighing in at 3500lbs with teh driver. would run a 15.4 sec 1/4. but with the car itsself runing weighing in at 3500lbs and with a 160lbs driver the car would run a tenth slower. so get over it, its all weight to numbers. the magnum weighs 4100lbs with 335hp.
now it is true the nagnum is heave, its huge. but with just a cam the motor will have 400hp. i did research. and will run close to the 13.3 sec 1/4 mile the SRT8 version runs. with intake and exhaust you would have a 13.3 sec magnum. for about 10000 less then an SRT8. you spend about then same and pull off a high 13. but id rather go with a V8 that can make power.

They weigh about 4200 lbs, before driver and 22s.
But truthfully, how sure are you that was an R/T? I heard the exhaust and it sounded loud, but so would a V6 with any aftermarket exhaust (or even resonator chopped) when you're right next to it.
The front badge sits higher than the trim, which means that it's one of two things. An 05 Mag, or a 3.5L badge. The 06-08s had hemi badges even with the trim.

When you compare a 19,995 dollar Mustang V6.. to the lowest end V8 Charger for 30k.. The Mustang is by far the best, cheapest muscle around.. If you compare dollar for dollar.. You could buy the Shelby Super Charger or really any S.C. Or Turbo made for the 4.0 V6 engine..for 5k.. only have 26K in the V6 and have 350 to 400 HP.. Thats a REAL VALUE !

your an Idot, the R/T was playing withy our 15.5 sec mustang,lo. the R/T stock runs a 14.3 sec 1/4 mile. just a 300 $ cam for the r/t and it will push 400HP. the 220HP v6 Stang would be sucking still. the R/T only pulled ahead and stayed there to keep the stang from a Ricer Flyby.

i wont deny you there bro, the cobra is an awesome machine, but if you want the top of the line vs a mid class vehicle of coure you would win. now you take an SRT8 version with the same mods as your cobra and you would be gettin whipped by mommy's grociery getter. the SRT8 vrs with just street tires runs a 12.8 in the 1/4 mile. then put on an intake tube, headers and exhaut and your pushin about 500hp easy. id say a mid to low 12 maybe high 11.9ish.

PS, also the Magnum R/T is an Auto Dumb Ass. they dont come in anything but auto, you can get an AWD Magnum R/T too. but its a tad slower in the 1/4 mile. do some reseach on 1/4 miles. the R/T does a nice 14.3 stock, the stang does a 16. stock. get over it.

ummm... apparently you need to read your stats. The STOCK v6 stang does a pretty respectable 1/4 mile under 15 (14.6-14.8). It doesn't take much to bring it close to 13's, then a little more to get under 13's. The R/T Dodges are heavy cars with heavy engines... that's it.

first off, the regular R/T magnum does a 14.3 14.4 sec 1/4 mile. you can be heavy all you want, but power is power regaurdless what the body of the car looks like, i have seen a AMG grimlen run a 10. now second off your giving the 220hp RWD 3500lbs mustan too fast a 1/4, i say this because the SUBI WRX with 235hp does an AWD launch and hits 14.4 in teh 1/4.

now with that car only being 220hp V6 and weighing in at 3500lbs with teh driver. would run a 15.4 sec 1/4. but with the car itsself runing weighing in at 3500lbs and with a 160lbs driver the car would run a tenth slower. so get over it, its all weight to numbers. the magnum weighs 4100lbs with 335hp.

now it is true the nagnum is heave, its huge. but with just a cam the motor will have 400hp. i did research. and will run close to the 13.3 sec 1/4 mile the SRT8 version runs. with intake and exhaust you would have a 13.3 sec magnum. for about 10000 less then an SRT8. you spend about then same and pull off a high 13. but id rather go with a V8 that can make power.

Sorry to tell ya buddy but that's a load of you know what. You're comparing a SRT8 to what Mustang? If you're going SRT8 then it's only right to compare it to the Saleen or a Cobra. If a stock SRT8 is doing 13.3's then you have a problem cuz stock GT's are doing 13.5's and GT's have 125 less hp's.
