This is sooooo cool!!!! I know that a bunch of other people must have asked you about this already, but could you please make some videos on how to do things that you can only do with an airblade? I know how to do things that would normally be fore a rifle with the airblade, but nothing else. It would be so awesome if you could do that! And awesome video!
We have air blades next year in our marching season show, Any advice about them and using them? this is only going to be my second year in guard, will I have any difficulties?
Ah, I'm sorry to pester you, as I'm sure many many people have for this same reason, but would you ever consider making some tutorials for airblade? I've been trying to learn airblade and working for a solo but no one at my school knows any weapons and I can't find many videos on Youtube for them.
I'm from a chapter where there are NO Open or World guard teams so I don't know too much about them but, this looks like some World class shit lol. Great job:).
i love rifle but i started my freshmen year as a airblade and have had it since. my teacher knows NOTHING about guard so i have to teach my self and my girls (i am the Captain). i final have something new to work on thanks to you :)
The air blade has to be my favorite to spin. But i prefer doing it on grass because I've broken on in half on concrete in a gym. lol but i do love how you handle it. KUDOS!
This was incredibly inspirational. Thank you for a fresh look at the air blade... I get tired of using it like a rifle or a sabre, but when that was all I learned how to spin I can only get so creative!
This is awesome!I wish you could teach my captain and co-captain how to use their air blades for this marching band season. This is the first time we are incorporating them into our routine.
Nice work with the Air Blade. My guard had the blades prior to me becoming their coach. I found that I was able to get them trained on the rifles easily (once I became their coach), and vice versa. I was easily able to pick up the blade as well. WOuld love to trade coaching and training "secrets" with you!
Don't hate on the air blade. Its def interesting. And really awesome when work for it is written and executed correctly. But for all you "guardies" out there, if you're a true guardie, you spin, not twirl. Leave the twirling to the majorettes. :)
Thanks for making this video. I love airblade. I don't really like the rilfe or sabre to much, but I love the airblade. I think it is easier to twirl then rifle.
Dude thanks, my daughter is gonna audition for a color guard college team and they use air-blades and this video will help. Whats your story? military? Good work!
Can you use a rifle? if so them they are almost exactly the same. you can do the same spins and tosses with them, but it looks a bit cooler because of the openings and curve.
TRAGEDY!! Well, as a suggestion, find a rifle and then just play with it and practice spinning it. You get used to it after a while. Just be careful not to drop it too much...they shatter...;)
HEY COOL! I am glad to have found a good video showing different ways of using an Air Blade. I'll direct people with questions about them to this very video. KUDOS.
actually the airblade is heavier.. But the air blade is easier to spin/throw because the weight is distributed in a way that makes it go around easier than a rifle.
i hrt my air blade. but ive run into the its heavy problem to. another problem ive run into is when doing back hands my hand gets stuck in the hole and what not. i love them though.
my colorguard has gotten airblades!! I LOVE THEM! the only problem i've run into tho is that they are so much heavier than rifles..so after you get used to an airblade it's hard to control yourself with a rifle since its like throwing paper!
we are about to get these in our colorguard team. Are they like super duper durable?? This is my first year, and this makes me a little nervous :) Looks awesome
see...ive spun an airblade and they r hard to spin...they r really cool looking and ill spin one, but i would much rather prefer a rifle or sabre. but you did really good.
That's awesome! I've never seen an Air Blade before! I spin sabre this year! =) This is only my 3rd year though. I do winterguard and then I play my flute in the fall. I started in 6th grade. This is great though! :D
I was wondering about outdoor use of the air blade! it seems as though there would be less movement due to wind on higher tosses, but I was't really sure since I don't have one!
they look so much fun. too bad our school doesn't care about the "silk squad" or "color guard". i would love for us to be able to use them for a performance. or at least part of one.
I just got my airblade today...I'm in love with it. I taped up the ends just to be sure, I don't want it to bust, I'll untape them soon.
It's heavier than my rifle, but I like the weight. It's also really easy to clean because its plastic. Grass stains from dropping wipe right off so it can stay looking good as new.
Your catches and stops are so solid! Amazing - I love when you stop it then flip it so the curve goes the other way. And your catch with your hand at the bottom is way impossible for my scrawny arms - so cool. Also, love your background! lol Thanks for posting
hmm... i don't know.. i'll take your word... but i'll try it... it's much stronger than a rifle.. that is without a doubt... you can hear a rifle crack when it hits the ground...!!
i bought an air blade but i am just using it over grass cuase i think that if i use it over concrete or a harder surface it might break... how strong is it really is?
As a band director/guard instructor for over 30 years, the comment on needing something that doesn't look like a real weapon (you can get suspended for a squirt gun in many districts)is correct. This is a godsend for those of us in "zero tolerance" districts...you can carry a concealed handgun, but you can't use traditional guard equipment, boy is the government screwed up....

Psh. Our guard isnt going to. Our director, who I have never seen pick up a piece of guard equipment, is not creative at all. We have flags and rifles. She would never ask the person who teaches us our routines to add something new... I ordered one myself though
so.. you wanna be really nice and post some videos breaking that down? like that behind the back catch you did, and maybe some other stuff. that'd be awesome 8D
i just recently bought one for my final for guard.. and im sitting there looking dumb for not knowing what to do with it.. thanks for the video.. such great ideas...!!!!
Based in the performance I would say it appears that adam has in fact mastered the product , so soon ? I thinks its a fairly new product ? Adam how does it compare to the rifle ?
I had a chance to "play" with them. They're a little on the light side for me, but I'm sure you can put some white electrical tape on them to make them heavier. Other than that, it only took me a few minutes to get used to. That's just my opinion.
It does! My director let me mess with one. he ordered some for our winter guard. I like it. It's weighted very different and I spins like a saber more than a rifle in my opinion.

Some schools have banned the use of sabres and rifles due to recent school violence...
The new air blade was made as a substitute to meet school requirements about weapons in schools.
this air blade was made to get the same effect of a rifle on the field or floor without making it look like a weapon.
It's really quite sad.
But I'm looking forward to getting an air blade.
