It's been a known fact for many years that the towers where built to withstand an impact from a boeing 707, the largest aircraft at the time. There's a video here on youtube claiming that's false. WHY? The designers did that because of an incident in 1947 when a B-52, lost in fog, hit the top floor of the Empire State Building.

@lovelivesXD Think about it; your average loaded Bell helicopter weighs about 5 tons. If they had multiple choppers landing on the roof, that's a lot of extra stress for the building to take. It might have collapsed the building prematurely, which could have ultimatly lead to more deaths.
I just can't see the guy at the end of this part as being a coward. It's cruel, but it's self-preservation; it's fight or flight; it's life or death. Yes, he doesn't know if he'd have died or lived or even if he'd have saved those others... but if he made the choice to live and continue to live to this day, and that's not an easy choice to make.

I was 12 years old when this happend :(... I remember everything that day. Saw the north tower on fire around 8:50am from my science class in New Jersey... I thought it was just a fire but I saw my teachers face and felt it was more than that. They told us to go to the assembly room and wait for dissmissal there. I didnt see my mom till 4:00pm becuase shes a teacher too and had to make sure all her students went home. Then on my way home i looked towards manhattan and saw it covered in smoke :(

@lovelivesXD Think about it; your average loaded Bell helicopter weighs about 5 tons. If they had multiple choppers landing on the roof, that's a lot of extra stress for the building to take. It might have collapsed the building prematurely, which could have ultimatly lead to more deaths.

I just can't see the guy at the end of this part as being a coward. It's cruel, but it's self-preservation; it's fight or flight; it's life or death. Yes, he doesn't know if he'd have died or lived or even if he'd have saved those others... but if he made the choice to live and continue to live to this day, and that's not an easy choice to make.

Beyond that...I doubt I would've made the same decision. And, to be honest, if I'd been Harry Ramos, I would've left Victor--Harry's selfless act cost him his life and Victor still died

@Kamikitsune0 I agree. It's very easy for us to call him a coward--we weren't there. And who knows, maybe there was nothing he could do. People like Frank Demartini, Rick Rescorla, Pablo Ortiz, Harry Ramos, etc died when they went to help others. It's courageous, and I have the advantage of knowing when the towers collapsed, but at some point, I wish they'd gotten out and a little less selfless. At some point, as in the case of Harry Ramos, you're trying to save people who can't be saved

I started crying when the firefighter said "We all shook hands, and wished each other good luck"...I can't imagine how scared they all were, and even though they must have been scared out of their minds, they went in anyway and saved so many lives...People like that are heroes to me

I was 12 years old when this happend :(... I remember everything that day. Saw the north tower on fire around 8:50am from my science class in New Jersey... I thought it was just a fire but I saw my teachers face and felt it was more than that. They told us to go to the assembly room and wait for dissmissal there. I didnt see my mom till 4:00pm becuase shes a teacher too and had to make sure all her students went home. Then on my way home i looked towards manhattan and saw it covered in smoke :(

I have to say, the contrast in intensity between the real life footage and the blandly acted scenes couldn't be more striking. Sometimes I hate the inability of American actors to act realistically. Everything always comes across like some bland made for TV shit drama, like Deep Space Nine or something.

@ryanmshepard92 Calm the fuck down, dick. There are some good American (mainly film) actors, but when you look at network TV as a whole, the quality of acting is atrocious. You could quite easily interchange one actor for another. This documentary has that bland network TV style of acting and no, it's not very realistic. The acted scenes look like network TV drama. I don't have a superiority complex but you quite clearly have a very serious inferiority complex by the way you react.
