I was actually pretty good at fighting them. The first time was a drag because I couldn't figure out how to kill them. After that I got pretty good because I was a jump fighter. And once I got those jump boots I would hardly be touched. What really stressed me out was how long it took to kill them and how freaky the song is. I would have used the super missiles....but I am the frugal gamer who saves ammo for the "next unknown challenge".

I always fucked around with these guys when I got my Phazon Suit. Their attacks barely do any damage compared to what they once did. If I had to choose between fighting 10 of these in a small room and running away, I think I would fight. Hell, put the fight in high concentrations of Phazon, I still have yet to see how powerful the Phazon Beam really is.

the first time or 3 against the Chozo Ghosts always gets me nervous, even when I know it's coming, but with X-Ray, really, they are nothing. 3-4 charged Power Beam shots is usually enough to take one down, and X-Ray makes tracking them easy :P Not even Super Missles are needed really, even if it OHKO's them, if you have X-ray you can just track them and Charge Power Beam them~

I like the backtracking in Metroid games only because you go through it the hard way first, then you obtain an ability/item that makes going through the same area easier. Gradually uping the difficulty of the backtracking(chozo ghosts and others) degrades the experience and makes it more annoying imo. Don't get me wrong, I liked the chozo ghost battles but having them in like every other room gets to be a pain. I just start avoiding them completely in the end. Epic game though
