I really enjoyed this film back when I first saw it. Great little neo-noir, I don't know if I would classify Puncture as a noir but I defintiely enjoyed it because it has similar elements to this.

@TehVenezuelan that's fantastic, I would love to study film. my friend introduced me to 'brick' one evening after a few wines, he told me that i'd enjoy it - I was hesitant at first because of the actors and because of the general gist of the plot but I watched it and pretty much fell in love with the style. It reminds me of theatre acting, it is also similar to 'my own private idaho'. Very lovely film to watch :) Merry Christmas btw :D

Man, I wrote a script with this same name, Brick. My script is based on the song from Ben Folds Five called Brick. I didn't even know this movie existed until I did some research on the internet about the meaning of the word Brick. Now that this movie called Brick has already been made, I have to change the name of the script that I'm currently in preperation to rewrite. Brick means "good hearted person" and my script is about a good heart person. I just need a new title for my script now.

I've never heard it used to refer to a good-hearted person. besides, using Brick in that context, where the movie is based off of the song, i believe is copyright infringement (don't count on it though).

I just base my story on how I hear the song. My script isn't totally about the song though. I've been rewriting this script for sone years now. And yes in the dictionary online which I found, it said the meaning of Brick is in deed "a good-hearted person." And that's what my script is about, the good hearted person.

I watched this and smirked through the hard-boiled dialogue....for about ten minutes. Then I was hooked. The main characters--Brendan, Tug, the Pin, and Dode---were played by absolutely top actors. I bought this ridiculous story because of those four men. Tug, especially---a multi-faceted screw-up. I actually felt sorry for him! THAT'S good acting.
