Thank you so much for sharing this!! I have a test tomorrow on the cardiovascular system and pulmonary edema. I was getting so bored of studying, but videos like this are really helping me learn it. Thanks! :)
You know, you could just consume a healthy diet. As long as you look after yourself you really don't need to constantly check your blood pressure for a stratagised drug intake in lowering blood pressure. I'm not saying don't eat that take-away. Just eat only one maybe every friday in a fortnight.
Although on prescription drugs my wifes blood pressure remainder at the top end of normal. After taking Levodyn for three months the improvement has been significant and she intends to carry on with Levodyn as a really helpful supplement.
Explain heart failure with preserved ejection fraction - also known as diastolic heart failure. Interestingly, there is a lot of research coming out from numerous labs showing that a diet relatively high in fat attenuates cardiac hypertrophy. However, consuming this type of diet will lead to coronary atherosclerosis, ischaemic heart disease and systolic heart failure (where the heart cannot eject the blood during systole). This leads to a back pressure which is reflected back into tbhe lungs...
I have already suffered 2 heart attack & have what my phsyican calls dangerously high triglycerides & LDL, and i was told that if i do not get these levels under control i will have another. This did frighten me and i knew i needed to do something to reverse this damage. I knew plant sterols were powerful so i tried Sterolyn, and i'm very proud to say that my triglycerides have gone from 512 all the way down to 155. LDL count down from 240 to 132. Great product.
Talk about how the high fat diet is related to atherosclerosis and how this relates to clogging of the arteries. It is the occlusion of arteries that forces the body to increase bp to overcome the blockage. This is how you link poor dietary choices to htn and then to heart disease.
I just had a baby and when I was pregnant I had hypertension. Its gone down now, but when I was in labor it went sky high and I almost died. I'm really appreciative of the nurses and doctors for the meds they kept pumping into my viens that eventually started to work and I was okay.
Very nice overview of how what we eat affect our blood pressure. More important is it helps explain what high blood pressure is and how it can lead to damage of our body organs. Thus, eliminates, or minimize, the mystery of why we should keep our blood pressure normal.

...causing pulmonay oedema. A recent study in America showed that about 70% of patients with heart failure have ischaemic heart disease.
