This is one of my favorite scenes from any movie, ever, and I have seen a lot of movies. Something about the delivery of the line, "What is it like not to feel anything?"
i dont think she was right for the role but i dont think its cause shes too nice to be estella. i just dont think she has that mystery about her. they sure did pick the perfect little girl though to play her as a child!
-Let's say there was a little girl, and from the time she could understand, she was taught to fear... let's say she was taught to fear daylight. She was taught that it was her enemy, that it would hurt her. And then one sunny day, you ask her to go outside and play and she won't. You can't be angry at her can you?
what a beautiful movie; can't stop watching . thanks for posting.

But it takes something to change them. An intervention of some sort.

I find gweneth paltrow beautiful. but is she right for this role? she's too nice to be estella, don't you think?
steventhestudent 3 years ago
i don't think so, Gweneth Paltrow is cold so i think this is the only role that has been appropiate for her.

i agree with you. I love Gweneth, she is so sweet! but for this movie Estella should have been a girl who seems cold and mysterious..

She did an amazing job, I have never found her beautiful until I saw her in this movie. Paltrow knocked this character right out of the fucking park
