  • okay i think u can count anyway u want to but then again most jumps are to a count of 8. im not even a cheerleader and i no that but then again i could be wrong...nice video though! i found a new stretch to do! Hope I make my team!!!

  • DDD: it's all wrong !! When doing a touch touch , herkie , ect. You put your hands together at 1 , 2 Then 3 , 4 High V then 5, 6 Jump and 7 , 8 Clean . And with the kicks you don't have a high V while kicking , doing that is a nice way to pop out your shoulder ;) You have your arms in a T - position then starts the kicks. Jeez , bad example D:

  • i wish i could be a cheerleader im very shy and didnt even ask for try outs or anything so i had my boyfriend do it for me and finally when i grew lady balls they said it was tooo tooo late to try next year and now i cry every time i see cheerleaders at the games. but that dosnt mean i can pretend to be one=)=

  • @129canada you're probably not stretching enough before your jumps. just do about five or so minutes of stretching before you do your jumps, and it'll stop hurting :)

  • i think people say cheerleading isnt a sport because after college there really isnt a cheerleading team for 30 year olds, and every other sport you do till you retire or get a broken bone and cant.

  • no offense... but good try on the jumps but we use a diffrent count NCA does it diffrent on 6 you are spossed to hit your jump not on 3!

  • im trying out for my JV cheer team and im really nervous B/c i have never cheered before i can do a toe touch, a herkie, splits, backhandsprings (double & roundoffbackhandsprings as well as standing) I can also so a heelstretch bow and arrow, scorpion,arebesque,and scale.   • im a junior in highschool, i want to be a cheerleader really badly but i dont have any training. the school year has already started so i think ill have to try out next year when i am a senior. is that too late? i dont know any flips or things. PLEASE help me with advice!

  • @coleyoko94 no, I don't think so, just start practicing..!! do some excersises for flexibility and start with simple things like split, kicks all those things and then move to back handspring, front flip, back flip ( btw with the help of a professional)

  • i noticed all schools are quite different. at ours we do a clasp on 1, lift it up on 2, bring it down on 3(and bend our knees) jump on 4, land on 5(head down) hold for 6, and do a pony flip for 7,8.

  • @mileysrockingirl you shouldn´t b afraid, other cheerleaders don´t usally laugh at u if u fall they know how you feel, and most of the times your teammates wil be there to catch u u just gotta trust yourself and your team

  • hmm stretches should be for over a minute not just 5 seconds.. but you probably shortened for the video. might be worht mention though idk

  • Oh I wish that something would help me. I haven't cheerleaded(?) a day in my life and I have tryouts in 4 days. I'm not even that great at a toe touch and I really want to be a cheerleader this year. Any advice for someone whose starting out in a couple days with no practice?

  • @Kaoz121212 Girlll, (well i hope yer a girl, if not ...sorry) I was the same way. At most schools though, they take a few days for practice and prep for the ACTUAL tryouts. It's not like "bim bam boom, you have to come up with a routine". nahh, they teach you a floor cheer and your jumps so you get a little more expirianced. then you have to perform (idk, some schools are diff) your jumps the floor cheer and two or more bbal or football cheers. so yeah. don't sweat it:D hope i helped at all!(:

  • @mileysrockingirl i would advise you to take a summer gymnastics program. i was having the same fears as you, because i am really serious about cheer but havent taken a day of gymnastics till last week, and i already see myself improving.

    so my advice is that if you are really serious, take summer gymnastics and if you dont make it, keep working on your gymnastics and try out next year[:

  • on the toe touch how do you get your jumps high? mine suck so bad i can only get up like a foot or a bit more in the air. each foot is tht high up :'(

  • you need to strech you have to sit down and spred your leggs to the side as far as posible then when your leggs are spred you put your arms foward and touch the ground and reach as far as you can that will get them higher and be sharp and point toes :)

  • It may surprise you but the steps are more imporant than the jump. You need to make sure that your arms are firm and legs are straight. You can sill have a low jump and get on the team!

    3.Girls are heavier than softballs. And they come twice at fast at you and you have to CATCH them. No way to remember what to do that quick.

    4.There really isn't such thing as muscle memory. It's all skill.

    5.If you tried doing half the stuff we do, you would probably die. Literally.

    6. Cheerleading is a sport now and forever.

  • when i first got my splits my friend said that if i hold myself for 1 or more minutes then your muscle remembers the thing and shes a gymnast
