  • a fresh cup of tea hehe :) great video

i would love this, im an amiga freak, this was in 2006? whats it like now on the PSP 3000/4000?

  • PSPUAE 0.72 as a whole is a lot faster, particularly with the FAME/C core (there are two flavours available) although that core is not as compatible.

I assume it runs the same on the 3000 using the 'HEN' loader, although, as i only have 1000 & 2000 i cant be 100% sure of that. (i suspect the only problem would be the loader eating memory)

4000/PSP-Go is not hacked yet is it?

  • No, I'm still confused - is it much faster?

  • it's much faster LOADING.

this is also a very out of date version of PSPUAE on this video (it is almost 3 years old now)

there's a FAQ regarding RISS games on our website that will explain it much better than i can in a youtube comment reply!

  • Oh I see what you did you cheeky monkey - I do the same thing, just save a game at the menu/start of play and load from there! I was excited then - surely one day we will have a perfect Amiga emulator on the PSP..

  • IsCould this be a new way to play PSPUAE then? Will they ever bring out a programme that you can choose the games from a menu and straight in, with authentic Amiga gameplay? I love the Amiga but all this slowdown just seems somewhat unecessary, surely? *Dont ask me to do it though!*

  • Is hdf files supoorted? Like I see in latest

pspuae 0.72 a main Eboot.pbp file have in it

content "hdf" text, so why loading from adf?

It is take veeeryyy looong time to complete.

  • no, hdf isnt supported sadly. no author ever managed to successfully compile pspuae with the HDF functions of e-uae working.

and yes, adf is slow, which is why the faster method on this video was developed which uses RAM instead of ADF/HDF.

  • What kind of graphics does the PSP UAE emulato support? OCS, ECS or AGA? ECS at least i hope- but what's the resolution of the PSP?

  • ECS. it's only 333 mhz processor, so it'll struggle with AGA (try running e-uae on a machine with a processor that low)

PSP resolution is 480x272, which is enough for the lowres modes used by most games. this kind of becomes irrelevant anyhow given PSPUAE's zoom features however.

  • What about games that laod while playhing ? Wouldnyt that affect gameplay?? Stuff like trackmos, too...

  • games that load whilst playing, it depends on the HD-install author. If the game relies on being slowed, the author will add the necessary waits, otherwise it's often stripped out by pre-loading the entire game in advance, thus quickening everything.

I cant think of a single game that -needs- the disk access in game to slow it down.

same applies for demo's etc... although any coder that -relies- on disk access alone for the result to be timed correctly, sounds as if the are coding badly to me.

  • Mate, what setting are you using in pspuae? CPU, RAM, KICKSTART ETC. Cheers.

  • nice coffy cup! :)

  • so which is faster? and is it full speed

  • the installed save-state loads faster, (as shown) but the games run the same, since theres no disk access during gameplay.

There IS during the Career mode however, and the difference in loading really comes into its element there.

game isnt full-speed even on PSPUAE 0.63 - Sensible Software games seem not to be done with the most efficent of coding.

  • good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is amazing! I love swos and now I am going to get a psp so I can play it all the time.

  • yeah, newest version is 0.63, which is faster, but sound is being worked on for 0.64

  • is the sound a bit messy?cause it is on mine

  • 4 decades later

  • Smackdown VS Raw 2006 take more time to load on PSP xDDDD
