this finish was not exciting despite the close margin. nascar should get rid of the two car draft before the coke zero 400. even though the drivers like it, FANS HATE IT! bring back pack racing. pack racing is a perfect example of why nascar is one of the hardest sports in the us
Nascar= American sport... Chevrolet= American make... Ford= American make... Dodge=American make... Toyota= Japanese... why not putting another american make instead of toyota ? ( my opinion)
@derick4767 Is there even another american make that could afford NASCAR racing? Saleen when bankrupt, Vector was a joke, and Tesla doesn't have the money for a NASCAR program.
As for Dodge, Chrysler is currently owned by:
United Auto Workers Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association (59.2%)
I hate this two car shit. It makes the races boring (usually no big one), the cars get strung out, not all in a big pack, and you blow by people. There' s no fighting until 20 laps to go. In the pack draft, there fighting with about 120 laps to go.
@KA128183 YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT MY FRIEND. I am one of the biggest NASCAR (and Tony Stewart) fans known to man, so I really do pay attention to the races (never change the channel on any type of race). For the first, oh, 20 laps their in a big pack, and then they start to get single file for 100 laps, unless theirs a caution or pit stops. Both types of drafts have their downside, 2-by-2 being stretched out, and big-pack, single-file. I will say, having Scanner and listing to the drivers is great
@KINGCOOL420 Ok. I'm sorry but lets see how happy you are when you have half the leaders, half the lead changes, 20 cars get taken out o contention, its harder to pass, and the 2nd place guy is around 100 times further away from the first place guy, when they go back to the cheap radiators next month and bring back how it used to be. other sports are about team work. why shouldn't NASCAR be?
@Iobjectyourreality since when has nascar EVER been about teamwork? its every man for himself and that is what makes it special and different from other sports. if you want nascar to be about teamwork might as well give the trophy to both cars
@andrew24rocks2 Ok. I understand, however, lucky for you, they are really going to try to put a stop to this next week. Probably because it is to hard for the experienced drivers to work with. The last thing they probably want to do.
@KINGCOOL420 i love the 2-car drafting! :D it's SO MUCH better than watching everyone ride around in one big pack all day. there's alot more passing and it's not as dangerous as pack racing, if you're watching these races for the big wreck then you're watching them for the wrong reasons. it's not boring, it's great! if you don't like it, no one is making you watch it. it only happen 4 times a year, you'll survive without it.
I like how the Hendrick teams stuck together all race. They didn't pair up with other teams outside Hendrick all race. Hendrick Motorsports is all about teamwork!
all the haters of the pairing up, when was the last 4 wide finish with the old way? when was the last .002 finish at a plate track with the old way? when was the last time EIGHT cars were within .2 seconds at the finish?
all the haters of the pairing up, when was the last 4 wide finish with the old way? when was the last .002 finish at a plate track with the old way? when was the last time EIGHT cars were within .2 seconds?
@BlueLightning48 good finish..but i still prefer the 30 car packs..so much more exciting, i would get nervous before every plate race, not any more...it sucks...the feel of plate racing is gone
Damn i'm not even a fan of Jimmie, wanted the black Bud car to win but that finish was awesome anyways. Look at all those Chevy's up there hoggin the checkered, badass...
@KA128183 Yea, But I will turn on the TV when there are 2 laps left because the rest is boring now. Rather watch everyone racing against everyone and the 2 car tango crap. sorry, It's boring watching it now.
@KA128183 it was an amazing finish but it doesn't make up for 187 boring laps. why the hell should someone be stuck pushing someone to a win if they have no shot at winning themselves. in my opinion this isn't even racing. lets not forget there were just as many lead changes last year when they were 3 and 4 wide 10 rows back when it was every man for himself. i can't believe some people like this racing more.
Restrictor plate races don't require skills to RUN good. They only require skill to FINISH good unless you are lucky. Case in point Trevor who? How many no name drivers do you see run good and DIS and TS and never run good anywhere else. Outside of that this is hands down the best race of the year. The finish really showed who had the skill to close it and see the air.
Boring race though. I don't care what people say, the last 5 laps isn't going to save a 500 mile race. Restritor plate racing is stupid and should only count as non-points race. Hardly any skill involved.
@JohnElightening Ok, then lets see you get your sorry excuse for human ass out there and lets see if you can win or even keep up. Why don't you just do us all a favor and shut the fuck up. Your just mad cause your driver lost. Either way Jimmie Johnson won an exciting race today.
@CrisKG125 I'm "mad."? How am I mad? I knew my driver wasn't going to win at the start of the race anyway. This stupid Restrictor Plate racing BS. Always hated it. I've watched NASCAR all my life too. Just avoid "The Big One" and find a drafting partner and you're all set. Oh, and I'm entitled to my own opinion.
Fuck johnson
