Sorry, his technique is not that great. He's rushing everything, and the take off and landing of the double tours is not a great position. Grand pirouette is not as good as some, but hard to tell, since he's going so fast...

I have heard so much dislike for Gillian Murphy but she is such a performer, and actor (more so then the average ballet dancer...in my opinion) that at times when I was watching her dance I could almost hear what she would be saying. And again, AMAZING presence on stage. She is one of my favorites!

His presence on stage is amazing! I have always heard from my teachers that typically when a man a woman are dancing together most people watch the woman. I would say this is true for me. But...there is just that something about Angel Corella that when his is dancing on stage, no matter who else is with him, I just can't take my eye off him. He is a SUPERSTAR!! And as a woman I really appreciate him dancing with strength. He dances like a man!!

first of all: beeing spanish doesn't mean to have the flamenco style (it is something u learn because it's ur family's tradition or in a dance school). Besides, the flamenco is a typical dance of Andalucía (the southern part of Spain) that is wrongly associated to whole Spain.

sure maybe TECHNICALLY, but artistically NO WAY! angel has this presence. and he makes the character his own. when he is onstage you feel his energy and his joy of dancing. i have gotten this feeling from few dancers (and i have seen many many perform live) and none to the extent that angel is capable of.

I actually think I should correct myself... there was only one turn that he was slightly off-center, so I take my previous comment back. And considering the tempo of the variation played by the orchestra... you cannot really waste time between transitions. He is absolutely phenomenal!

Corella has great stage presence and style, and his first and last turn, wow! Personally, I would have liked to have seen more control on his turns in between the first and the last one. I like watching Baryshnikov do this variation with his controlled turns (minus one turn he did that was slightly off-center) lol Of course I am being picky though! He's incredible!
