I think u r wrong, ok maybe the songs she wrote in ABBA are not as big as other songs, but B&B wrote songs that were not hits either, plus she already did a lot of writing b4 ABBA, and her music in that period was great, that's why she was a star long b4 ABBA in Sweden, but I know that we all think different.and I love ABBA too, as a group they were great, but alone they all had talent too. She didn't have the same style as B & B but she was great at her own, this is a really personal song.

I agree that Agnetha's songs are better than some of the earlier stuff from B&B I think Disillusion is one of the best songs off the ring ring album. But i enjoy the later stuff from abba, i particularly like the visitors album, it's different from anything i've heard
Unfair statement towards Ags. B & B's evolved as composers as the years passed. Let's face it, the fans & the music industry today would NOT have remembered ABBA for "Merry-Go-Round", "Me & Bobby & Bobby's Brother", "Suzy Hang-Around", "I Saw it in the Mirror" etc. They evolved as composers to bring us the masterpieces of later ABBA. Agnetha would have evolved as well & her earlier compositions as well as "Disillusion" were superior to several songs written by B & B earlier in their career.
I think her songs are nice, but Björn and Benny together were a creative bomb! Look at Rhianna and stars today. I wouldn't say their songs are better than this one og dissilusion.
I don't think her songwriting abilities were poor at all. Her style differed greatly than B & B which is probably why she didn't compose for the group. Her earlier compositions were in the style of 60's folk, Connie Francis which were not B & B styles at all. M. Tretow called her a "great musician" & several, myself included, love several of her songs, especially her poignant 60's ballads. Not ABBA but different is good IMO. Opinions differ of course, just making the case for Ags. Cheers.
Most people don't know that according to the books written about this group she was the only one of the four that could read music. Hard to believe but Benny and Bjorn didn't read music. She's also playing the piano on this live version of the song. As for why she didn't continue to write during her Abba days the bio says it was mostly due to a lack of confidence in her own abilities. Bjorn and Benny wanted her to write....She chose not to....
I believe she was a full time mum while Abba were active, so thats probably why she didnt continue to compose during her years with Abba, although she has written a song on an Abba album, Disillusion, and also released a solo album which she wrote all the songs for during her Abba years, Eleven Women In One House is a great album, Abba had three gifted singer/songwriters, Agnetha is roumered to be making a new album.
It is really pitty Agnetha has not written and performed more of her songs. Although the song is said it is very good. One wonder why she stopped writting her songs once she joined ABBA.
