Is your escapement geared to show actual time or is this more on the realm of "sculpture" ? Whatever, it is lovely! I would like to try this with something like honey or thick oil...as for air tight glass, silicone will work, patience!

yes and Id like to make more but having problems with the joints, very difficult to join glass in a circle and expect it to remain air tight.

Sorry I am doing a nosy here but have you considered using rubber oring/gasket that flex to the joints for sealing? If you are using sand as the "fluid", you could also try using foam to help you make the seal. Foam is more compressible than rubber and might help you amke the bend.

I really like the concept of this clock.

Hi the main problem is it must be air tight. Other wise the sand becomes damp. I have a few answers but no money and time at the moment.

Ah I see...I don't know if you have tried this already...but I had to deal with a odd shaped seal issue before and ordered molds to cast closed cell polyurethane foam. It could be designed to be any kind of shape to fit your design. And because of the internal bubbles, it is very compressible to fit any type of space. Also can try using caulking glue to seal any open gaps.
