Yo maggot. A Ludwig epic is pretty nice. 6 piece will run you close to 900 bucks. Shell pack. Find on musicians friend music123. Nice set. Or you can get a mapex meridian maple or birch. Check out specs on each or shop around for others.
can you recomend a good 5-6 peice kit with a 22in bass drum for playing everything from jazz to deathcore? that is relativly affordable? i need a new kit
why does the bass drum sound so dead, is it because of the room, head selection would and emad and a por from head give it a nice phat sound ? or do ludwig just make bad bass drum
@Crusada54 I don't think this bass is muted in any way, It has nothing inside to take out the bwomping overtones. it sounds pretty darn good without any muting, but if ya wanted, a small felt pad or something would make it nice and punchy.
i have the same drumset with original cymbols...the still sound great and i play them here or there they are in mint condition, the only thing i have replaced are the heads which i have a full set of remo pinstripe...inherited them from my grandfather
What I don't get is that the wrap looks almost like the authentic 60's OBP, not like the new "bowling ball" wrap that's on new Ludwig Fab Fours that I've seen?
For the guy who said he likes Fusion set-ups, is that what they are calling this these days? This is actually the traditional Jazz set-up for the last 50 years - 8x12, 14x14, 14x20. I've always wanted a second set with Jazz sizes for smaller clubs.

@Crusada54 a port hole would help it. Ludwig makes good bass drums.

the kick sounds bad imo
pretaanluxis 2 years ago
Yeah the kick sounds dead. Not very much warm tone like toms.

What heads are you using?
AprilEthereal 2 years ago
They are the stock Ludwig heads. Equivalent to Remo Ambassadors.

Looks like a Ringo Set. Same specs as Ringo Starr right?
DrummerGS 2 years ago
The same until 1965 when he switched to 13 16 22.
