  • I have just flipped into these import Honda from japan. I like this EK9, but I love the EG6 more. The EP3 also is awesome, but to costly.

    I have my EG6 for about 9 months now, with a B16A, and next year I'm planning to sell my B16A and by a B16B from e EK9 Type r '00. I would like to do some performance to get some extra hp, but still remain stock. Where can I get a spoon header?

  • @pyroheim -- ur ek9 should be way good to put down a good 1/4 mile time without spinning the wheels 2 much... for 200whp u should run low 14's or prob high 13's

    I have an ek9 here in Jamaica and it's a ls/vtec (b16b top half/b18b bottom half) 2.5" piping, stage 3 clutch and am only making 180 little and d car has done low 14 n/a and 13.2 with 70 shot of nos....

    my vtec kicks in at 4700 rpm and I launch d car at 3500 with not too much spin.... so give it a try.

  • that sux a buddy of mine has a 2001 integra DC4 with a stock gsr swap out of an 94 gsr with basic bolt ons and he got his teggy to run 13.9 on his 15" webs he has toyo proxes 4's on em if ur funin 14n/a with all that work ur car has problems or it is the driver

  • It wasnt the best 1/4 mile we have, the surface was pretty bad.

  • its a real ek9, do your homework, 97 ek9s were pre facelift ek's with orange lights, different front bumper/lights/wings etc. facelift was 98 on with the white lights.

  • i live in the us, and right now i have a 98 civic hatch, but iv been looking at importing a legit ek9 type r from japan, which one in your opinion is better, the dc2 integra type r or the ek9 civic type r... any info would help

  • You're absolutely right.These years ,96 to 2000, were in my opinion, the best Honda's year. It's not difficult to work on these, we have space to add parts, u can improve the way you want your car.I have a red 97, i just did a complete new paint job with type-r lips, type-r wing with led(over hatch).I just need a 2 liter v-tec instead of my 2003 D16 that i swaped a year and a half ago : ) Patience is the word...

  • vtecs a kids toy get fuked dik head a turbo is just a fukin hair dryer these 2 guys i work with 1 has a 04 civic type r and 1 has an 02 rexy with a full exhaust system and boost controll and the other has a full exhaust system and as soon as he hits 5500 rpms rexy has no chance even in the mountains we go and still has no chance

  • its not a test of acceleration. the idea is to go up the rpm's slowly to produce a graph showing the power the car is producing at the wheels, its not meant to be a tese of speed/acceleration. it didnt hit full revs as the power started to drop away at around 8500rpm.

  • I have owned all types of performance vehicles and the 2 cars i remember around those numbers stock were a 87 Iroc and a 90 TSI talon,good numbers for stock cars.I also owned a hatch but it was slow,but handled awesome when i did the suspension,it was a stock 91 hatch dx,lol.

  • Id say ur right in thinking its been stroked to 1.8l, since 208hp - 135lb/ft torque would be almost identical to what ud expect from an ITR import, 135lb/ft of torque is way to much from a b16b with jus breathing upgrades. So really this is an EK9 with a b18c in it jus with b16b block as such. lol SO wish i had the cash for a Type R, il jus be sticking with my SiR2 for now hehe
