I really wonder how composers as talented as David Newman get shunned to movies as awful as Norbit.

Also if you've seen Jackie chan's interview with Conan o brien they show a clip from a fight in the "Spy next door", nice fight but completly killed by Newman's score.

David Newman does pretty bad movies but writes the most sincere, beautiful scores for them. I've sat through movies like The Cat in the Hat, Scooby-Doo, The Spirit, Jingle All the Way, and countless others because no matter how good or bad the movie is, I will watch it if Newman does the music, because his music invests me in the story every time.
