I really wish I had played BW now. Protoss basically had a baneling cannon. Now we get colossi that, while pretty cool, just don't pack the same punch. Good thing I'm learning to play random though; baneling drops are probably the closest thing I can get to this made-of-win harass style.

How to get reaver i sc2 go to stary custom game in the seach bar type sc1+2 pick one play as protoss and you can do something crazy like colossi reaver

1. Drop into an undefended main/expo mineral line

2. Pwn a bunch of workers

Rinse, repeat.

why were reavers removed anyway? i thought they were pretty fair. they were completely useless against anything flying, they're expensive, and you have to pay for their attacks. but, their attacks were so devastating, in fact i don't remember anything other than nukes having a more powerful single attack

@schmidtbag It wasn't about fair. It was about new. They created the colossi, but they ruled out that it essentially took the place of the reaver with the long range splash dmg. Therefore, they scrapped the reaver. Not to say he's not going to be in Legacy of the Void though since almost all the old units made a reappearance in the campaign (Scourge, scouts, lurkers, firebats, etc.)

@IneedaYTaccount wait they took our lurkers too? i haven't played sc2 yet, but that sucks, lurkers were one of my favorite units in the entire game. scourges, scouts, and firebats weren't that great. i haven't heard about legacy of the void, but i'm glad blizzard doesn't let these units get forgotten

@schmidtbag Yea. The lurker isn't really ingame (even campaign wise), but he's in the galaxy editor. You can find some custom games that use the lurker. SC2 is going to be released in a trilogy so Legacy of the Void is going to be the last game/expansion which will be concerning the Protoss campaign. Wings of Liberty is the Terran campaign which is out, and Heart of the Swarm is the next one being worked on which is on the Zerg.

P.S. Lurkers actually do bonus to armored now

1 question--what shud be the order of my upgrades in the support bay. and if your really gosu, and you know the answer: if im goin into reaver tech, shud i make 1 or 2 reaver, obs or shuttles first, and what upgrades; all of em in what order?

depends on what matchup. generally, you never get upgrades other than the shuttlespeed, but mostly you don't even get that.

then again, if you're going into lategame, you'll want shuttlespeed for tempdrops.

in pvp (where you use reavers most) you generally make reavers as much as possible until either you or your opponent goes citadel-templar tech. obs is situational-if he's going dts obv you want them, but sometimes you can delay obs after your 2 reavers even. shuttle-ob-reaver is standard.

Reaver is better, Reaver is unpredictable.

You can destroy the whole expansion with one reaver and at the same time you can kill only one scv or drone.

Colossus isn't so good

@Hurtedeye I don't agree. Random is good for laughts, bad for a competitive game. SC is competitive. Also, reavers cannot shot from high ground, this is a major problem. Colossi can even WALK there by themselves.
