There is another scene I would love to see from this movie. The dialogs are something like this:

Sridevi: Maal tere baap ka hi sahi, lekin maine thoda lagaa liya to tere baap ka kya jaayega

Totally agree with you, espcially when Rohini comes just before this line saying "Ku ri, tera baap ka maal hai"...Sridevi's timing was super in this scene...

very well directed movie..whres Pankaj Parashar now...he was so clear abt what he wanted. Superb screenplay and execution. Sri was the hero, heroine and everything....BTW Rajnikant was really gud in thsi movie. they had an amzing chemistry.

As per my knowledge this is first movie in bollywood history that actress is carelessly goes to and ask for beer in the liquior shop. In wekipediya its writen How a true artist make a remake (Chaalbaaz) more big the its superhit original(Sita aur Gita). Sridevi is definatly good but equally supported by other actors in this movie

Some of the best lines "All India Star Manju Michaeli Jacksoni Khadaili Hai" "Ek Brand New Taxi M--m-Madisarees" "Chi Chi Main Madeera Nahin Peeti Ji"...OMG LOL...I cant remember how many countless times we would address each other with "Ji". There was another scene where she replaces Rajnikanth's booze with kerosene and says "Ghaaslet Ji"

Today it's been two decades since Chaalbaaz , the complete entertaining movie from the 80s with the 'most iconic performance by an Indian actress' by the most complete actress Shridevi has been released .

Chof, we can dissect the work of this woman as long as we please, but there is one thing certain - and something that always remains true every time we mention the word "Sridevi": there's just absolutely NOTHING that this woman cannot partake in and hold her own 'till the very end!!!!!! It's like being skeptical about Picasso's extraordinary potential in creating a masterpiece or doubting his line of work. When one is simply AMAZING...one just IS!!!!!!!!

I, personally, am biased for double roles since I always believe that such characters bring out the ultimate best in actors/actresses. In such a case, not only are they made to enact a certain character (which, of course, Sri masters like the pro that she is!!), but a complete opposite of the first character as well. That takes diligence, hard work, effort, and most of all, TALENT!!! Granted my adoration for double roles, "Seeta aur Geeta" is my favorite film in the whole, wide world:)

As this legendary scene from the equally-legendary film showcases: Sris one bad mamajama, and she knows it!!!! Dare anyone mess with the fire and energy bolt that is she!!! I grew up watching Sri films from the mere age of five, and, evidently, she hasnt let me down with any of her productions since. That's the magic of her: she has us coming back for more!!! "Chaalbaaz" is in my top-two list of favorite Devi films, and will always be. The perfect laugh-out-loud comedy from the comic genius!!
