He wants to beat him in a fair dogfight so that he can prove to himself(and others) that he is indeed better than Fox and and that Starwolf is a better mercenary team than Starfox. At least, that's how I see it.

He should have earned Foxs trust then killed him and then use Foxs radio to get Peppy Falco and Slippy to come and then ambush them and kill those guys too. Then all of Star Fox is gone and Wolf can do illegal stuff like transporting drugs without Starfox bothering him.

you din't notice something? all people talk about the "missing eye" isn't really missing!, try to whatch carefully his "spy lens" in the left eye, behind of that you can cleary see the eye!, and never in the game talk abouth the missing eye or nor Star Fox 64... but in the Star Fox 64, Wolf wild a similar thing look like a eye patch but ins't really that (Snake from Metal Gear, Snake wear something similar like that) or i am wrong?

@deathbored There really isn't. Just don't get lost in the complex and you should have an easy enough time getting back to your wing in time to assist the air battle. Sadly I can't remember mission nine, so I don't remember how badly the Landmaster was needed.

Yeah. As I remember, Wolf's character was never explored that much in SF64 or Command. SF Assault and Super Smash Brothers Brawl are so far the only games in existence that has given Wolf more character and personality development. Hopefully we'll learn more about him in future games. It's unlikely that Nintendo will ever bother fleshing out his background or anything, but we can at least hope for it.

@legomonster27 The fact to that all the Star Fox characters are getting older, with Assault and Command it is showing them about 10-12 years later since the 64 game. It is only obvious that all of them are going to have voice changes, in the 64 version Wolf wasn't on my favourite list but I do really like his new deeper voice it makes him sound more masculine and tough....Leon's voice on the other hand I do miss the 64 voice.

i would guess that falco was a rebellious child who was abused by his father (hinted because of his dislike of authority and rebellious acting). he probably ran away from home and got picked up by that gang he was in before the lylat war. just a guess. wouldnt that make sense for a tough, but disrespectful person who has a hard time showing feelings for his pals?

Good point. There's so much potential for massive development for these characters. I mean seriously, Starfox is one of Nintendo's most original and most innovative franchises. They really need to expand on it more. But sadly, I get the feeling that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Yes. I'm aware of that. In fact, I've read about the fact that Miyamoto based Fox on a legendary fox-like creature of Japanese mythology. And it's to my understanding that Kitsune is the Japanese word for Fox.

That very well COULD HAVE BEEN the real story. Miyamoto drew inspiration for all his games from his adventitious younger days. He once said that the chain chomp was inspired by this neighbors dog that chased him a lot. He was a real explorer as a kid, hence why he is one of the greatest minds of our time. His imagination is rivaled only by those of Brian Jacques and Jim Henson, sadly, both deceased.

Yeah. I think it's kind of a combination between necessity and a slight change of heart. Cuz Wolf could have had his way with Fox and that would have been the end. But although he "did" save his life, Wolf swore that he would kill Fox himself. I guess he just doesn't want to admit that he does have respect for him despite that they're still rivals. But even if he denies it, there is some good in Wolf.
