Why don't you use the "Spectrum" to make the peaks visible? Btw: great tutorials!!!

when i filter sounds i use the spectrum for finding the freqs easier

i heard the area between 400-500 hrtz is a problem area for instruments and gets tireing on the ear quickly. how would you go about removing these freqs? would you notch cut like you do here, or just scoop out a small chunk at 400/500 hrts? thanks
