Obama is black enough and white enough to identify with either culture. There is no large mulatto culture independent of white or black to belong to, so he gets to choose. Unless your suggesting there is somehow an inherent difference between a white and a black person beyond the culture they identify themselves with, in which case I simply don't agree. (Not saying you are, just getting it out of the way.) But I do think he needs to deliver this change he promised, not just be popular.
