Democracy would imply that every legislation is a referendum by the people. A indirect democracy is when the people elect representatives to represent their constituents on an array of social, economic, & political issues. A republic, which is indirect democracy, is not synonymous to a democracy. There is nothing delegated nor enumerated, in the constitution, that guarantees you economic equality, only equal protection.

First off, those private sector businesses that provide jobs can not suspend habeas corpus or declare martial law like government can. Lowering taxes generates revenue for the public treasury. When you raise taxes, less revenue is going to the treasury. When you raise people's taxes, they spend less, causing an economic down turn.

And this inequality gets more extreme every year. These are facts, but opinions differ. If your opinion is that this situation is just great and makes our democracy a better place then I guess we have very different definitions of what democracy is.

Democracy would imply that every legislation is a referendum by the people. A indirect democracy is when the people elect representatives to represent their constituents on an array of social, economic, & political issues. A republic, which is indirect democracy, is not synonymous to a democracy. There is nothing delegated nor enumerated, in the constitution, that guarantees you economic equality, only equal protection.

Lowering taxes generates revenue for the public treasury. When you raise taxes, less revenue is going to the treasury. When you raise people's taxes, they spend less, causing an economic down turn.
