I adore this movie. But watching it now as an adult, I have to wonder how, having had some 1,600,041 tries, he never once said 'a museum' even as a wild guess. Also, it seems unfair to pose that riddle starting thousands of years before museums existed. XD
The Mothers and Children song makes me cry. This song is my number #3 tearjerking song in Kids Entertainment History. It also makes me think of my mom and I cry because I think of her.
The Demon makes a Good Quiz Show Host, I think Big Bird caused The Quiz Show Scandal to Return in the 80s, He gave the Answer to the Prince, The Prince could be Charles Van Doren from 1958 BC.
I've read it several times... NO DEMON IS NOT ZORDON! That's JAMES MASON. Captain Nemo from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, he was also in North By Northwest.
Oh ok, right at the beginning there. Not when they show all the clocks going off for midnight at about 5:30 through. I'm not really sure if that was the clock chime that rattled him though; I find it to be more of a reaction to the fact that he missed what was going by.
@freakgirl713 Um... Not to really complain, but vampires weren't mentioned, and the legend has nothing to do with vampires as far as I know. Your comment about the vampires seems out of context.
I believe in the movie, Sahu is actually stuck in the Egyptian temple (ruins?) that were transferred to the Met. So he was brought there, due to the spell.
It was always interesting to see Oscar's feet sticking out of his trash can. Olivia has such an incredible singing voice. Sahu was such a cute kid, and his cat was adorable, too ... Uh... That is, when he became visible.
Well, they DID tone it down. In this version, the demon just forces you to remain on Earth. In old mythology, the demon EATS you if you aren't good enough.
I THINK it's like that... Still, demon's an important part of the myths, so it needs to remain.
That's what my parents thought when I was a kid actually - they banned me from watching this ! They were Christian fundamentalists who didn't like that the supernatural aspects of this episode - Osiris and demons et al
After all this time, it still seems rather surreal that I was not allowed to watch a SESAME STREET TV movie :)
Yeah, the first one you speak of comes in when that deep chime sound starts.
Believe it or not, it was actually the clocks that attracted me to this movie. I still have trouble seeing the grim expression that you see on the clock faces though.
At 4:06, my older sister just laughed as if Big Bird was crazy. She imagined what would happen if Sahu did come to live on Sesame Street. It would have been like: Sunny Day, sweeping the clouds away, then before they sing the next part, Sahu would shout: I'm a prince!
I watched this movie in art class in the 5th grade and loved all the Ancient Egypt stuff. So was looking for this to show to my kid now. Thanks for sharing.
That demon is really cheesy; I was expecting something a lot scarier... (Who else halfway thought they were going to hear "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" at some point in here?)
the security guard probably thinks he is going crazy seeing a walking trash can and then an invisible cat :D

Olivia's song belongs in a Broadway musical. It's much more beautiful than the typical Sesame Street tune.

After all, in different cultures, not all demons were scary and evil. There were some demons that were good and pure.
