The reunification and not an occupation is no myth because both the Panchen Kampus Assembly and the local Tibetan Government ratified the 1951 Seventeen Point Agreement. Many Tibetan lamas, leaders, and volunteers wanted the reunification, reforms and modernization. Moreover, both the 10th Panchen and the 14th DL participated and held national offices.
14th DL is treasonous the same as Jefferson Davis was charged with treason.

Also, in all their time in Tibet and Sinkiang, my family was never attacked by Tibetan or Uighur bandits; however on the way to Lanzhou from Shanghai, they were attacked by Chinese bandits (and rescued by other Chinese bandits).

Hey guys, at 3:29, that clip is from a vietnamese monk burning himself alive in Saigon during the early 70's. NOT in Tibet as may be suggested by this VDO.
Notice the long hair woman's dress is the typical vietnamese dress. Another buddhist on the left was kneeling down to show respect to the dying burning monk.
The monk was demonstrating against the South Vietnamese govt at that time.

The Chinese did killed my people, but that was not during CCP establishment. It was during Qing Dynasty and other Dynasties. CCP gave equal rights to all ethnic groups. It seems like only you religious Tibetan and Chinese muslims hate China. All other ethnic groups are fine and happy. I am Miao Chinese, still speak my language, practice my religion. I don't speak Chinese, but I am proud of China for their abolishment of slavery. You support Tibetan independence, because you are from a SERF fam.

No permanent Chinese residents in Tibet prior to invasion. There has been an intention transfer of Han to Tibet since the invasion. And there have been roads built and trains built in order to speed up this process and to make it easier to remove resources.

Besides being subjected to political brainwashing, prisoners in these camps are forced to do hard labor without pay for up to 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, with only 3 or 4 days off a year. The inmates, among them minors, are forced to work in factories, agricultural and mining industries. In addition to the violation of labor laws through forced labor, there are violations of labor laws that made child labor illegal. The prison and labor conditions are inhuman.

The very problem of this video is its comparison between Hongkong and Tibet. First, Hongkong is not incoporated into China until 1997! Second, the inhabitants of Hongkong are Han, while Tibetans are very different from Han with their unique culture and religion. Third, Hongkong's economy is far more sophisticated than Tibet, so there's little to compare between Hongkong and Tibet. I don't know what the film maker trying to say by this comparison

pre-1950 the Chinese did not live with Tibetans in Tibet. There were, by all intents and purposes, only Tibetans in Tibet. China and Chinese can claim Tibet since the Yuan dynasty all they want, but the ground reality is that their ancestors are not from Tibet, Tibetans are from there. Not one Chinese person can look us in the face and tell us their family has roots in Tibet pre-1950. I challenge you, go ask any Chinese you know. If your Chinese, then you know the truth yourself.

More than 70 percent of Tibetans in Tibet now live below the poverty line. Thousands of Tibetans continue to flee their homeland in pursuit of freedom, livelihood, and education in the exile community, where the Indian government gives facilities that the Chinese government cannot even think of, much less provide.

Well...the British colonization is defintely a part of India history. However, there are an independent India and an indepedent UK.
Manchu people were ruled by China Ming dynasty, but they rebelled and formed a Manchu based kingdom. Soon this kingdom conqured the whole China and ruled it for more than 200 years until it was replaced by Republic of China (ROC) in 1911. That is the hisotry fact, and you may understand it from your own approach.

2009 will be the anniversaries of Tibet, Falun Gong & Tiananmen.
First the 50th anniversary of the March 10 Tibet Uprising, then the 10th anniversary of the Falun Gong "sit-in", then the big one: the 20th anniversary of the June 4 military suppression at Tiananmen Square. On that date, the party showed it lacked the confidence to loosen its grip & open itself to independent accountability. Since then, it has pushed reforms, but always subordinated them to its own greed for power.

I agree that tibet used to be a opressive feudal state bevore the chinese and that intervention was neccesary. But like Clees sez, the Chinese have violated thier promises. This is ofcours a direct conseques of being a dictatorial country. The state is above the law and that is the problem.

So gratified to hear John Cleese's voice speaking reason about Chinese imperialism. Compare the facts found herein with the usual "shout rabies-infested foreign dog etc." that comes from the Chinese, all of whom are educated insofar as their government allows them to learn. Living in Peking, this is a country that simply throws people in gaol and blocks websites rather than research and debate.
