@trebluap A heat gun will work for small tests to see if you have the color you want but not for production runs. Waterbased and discharge ink needs a lot of heat to fully evaporate all the of water ink the ink and get the pigment to bind to the fabric. We recommend at least 120 seconds of heat, minimum.
Looking at they way you printed this multicolor does not need to be wet on wet correct? Now i just got an order for lime green ink on a hot pink shirt . If mixed properly do i need to worry about the lime green discharging out right because i will not be using and underbase just the pc discharge I purchased from ryonet.
@2nd2nobody We generally print everything wet on wet. Neon shirts are generally pretty stubborn colors to discharge, but putting a bright green will help. Are you planning to use a discharge base with a neon waterbase on top?
I bought a mixing kit from ryonet that has matsui inks and so on. im just having issues mixing as far as the grams and what not go anything anyone can tell me I am not mixing for exact matches but for general area would it hurt me to be of in mixing by .5 grams
could be the shirt, what kind is it? and what is a hot press? do you have a conveyor dryer? you need to have about 350 degrees of circulating hot air for a good 90 seconds.
@fajaryayat discharge inks need a forced air flash dryer or conveyor dryer for air circulation and heat to cure discharge inks colour POPS out only once cured, to cure you need heat and forced air
Does it smell when your printing. and the dryer is running? what does the Matsui smell like? I am going to try it this week and i just don't want to stink up my dryer from now on... thanks for the info...
will a heat gun work as a dryer or it has to be a conveyor for a specified temperature setting?

Does the discharge print appear white on the inside of the shirt? Not that it would matter, I was just curious.

@He1vis Not generally, unless it's a really thin shirt, but even then it's only going to be a heathered white, nothing too solid.

sweet! love the design and solid results.

That's on a six color Printa manual.

Just found this video and was wondering what manual press are you using? Looks like it holds a real nice registration.

You are using water based in an open air work environment. How do you prevent the ink form drying and clogging the screen?
pigeonistvideos 1 year ago
@pigeonistvideos You just can't let the ink set too long. Florida generally has quite a bit of humidity, so that tends to work in our favor.

Great registration on that piece.

Guess what I should have asked was do you lay one color ink directly on top of another not wet on wet.

@2nd2nobody Shoot for 5% by weight in activator. If you are up to 8%, you should be fine, but aim for the lower side of that range.

What kind of emulsion do you use

@2nd2nobody Generally Aquasol

You'll be fine. It only stinks when you mix it. After that, you're fine. I wouldn't worry about it.
realthread 2 years ago
It's not bad at all. The discharge agent stinks when you mix it, but it's fine once it's dry.
realthread 2 years ago
how bad is the smell when its cured? I have heard it really bad.
rigidmotion 2 years ago
Are you actually trapping the colors or are they just butting up to one another?

Butt registration, no traps.
