It is to my eternal regret that I never learned this sumptuous piece. It reminds me of a grand procession approaching then slowly passing by. If a modern-day international organ music composition contest was held and you came away with a piece like this you'd win hands down - a thousand times over! But only the Master could have written like this. We can only dream and wonder . . .
Thank you again, Daniel, for your labour of love in giving us all this.
What I noticed when I first heard this prelude was the fact that it has a rhythm, something other Bach works don't have. It feels like a baroque dance. It is something you really have to get used to, but once you did you'll learn that it's absolutely beautiful. Another overwhelming piece by our master.
You're welcome. Yes, these videos are pretty time consuming to get done, but it's definitely worth it, as long as I can reach people who appreciate them. Thank you for watching
@PhilippeThomas84 During the Baroque era, composers were limited in their key choices due to temperament. Keys such as c sharp major would sound quite out of tune. Equal temperament was proposed by many, as a solution to be able to play in every key "bearably" well. Bach opposed this by composing the WTC, a work that promotes his own type of temperament - well-temperament - which would sound better in tune than equal temperament.

Are these prelude and fugue all in their original keys ?
If so I'm impressed that Bach has some favourite keys....
