My mom had this on 45 rpm vinyl. The flip side was a great version of "Everybody Loves My Baby (But My Baby Don't Love Nobody But Me", and it's nowhere to be found nowadays.
I seem to remember that she actually did a sequel to this one "I didn't move to New York City to meet a boy from my home town." L. David follows her to New York. A shame the writers of Knots Landing did not write a plot of LDS moving to the cul de sac.
@Gydinglight12 You are right. That song is on the album, but the cover she does of the Classics Four tune, "Spooky", has to be heard to be believed......and you might not, even then.
The kind of pleasant fluff that was floating around the charts in the late sixties...like "Winchester Cathedral" by the New Vaudeville Band, and "Hello, Hello" by Sopwith Camel..
@daymude63 ~ You can't judge her singing by this novelty tune. She has a great voice, and made a name for herself as the female lead in the musical "How to Succeed In Business...".
This was the first record I ever bought. It was a 45, around 1963 or something like that. I was like 9 years old. I kept it for probably 45 years but had to give it away because I had converted to CDs instead of vinyl. I wore that 45 out... it was white with wear. :)
This song -- coming in the spring of 1968 -- was Michelle Lee's only chart entry. It peaked at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 11 weeks on the national magazine's charts.
Love it!

I vividly remember this song from back then. I think this is the first time I have heard it in 40 years.

@daymude63 Think so? Just wait until you hear her hilariously bad cover of "Spooky", from this album.
