EM is not a cure-all silver-bullet.
It is a combination of certain anaerobic micro-organisms.
Adding these foreign micro-organisms to eco-systems can be disruptive and potentially destructive.
EM can be very useful in many applications, but it is not always the best option.
"Harmful to none, beneficial to all" is a potentially dangerous fallacy which we should consider carefully.
