One thing i think is important is that you have to "be aware of" every stroke. Especially if you play fast. You have to feel every stroke, if not you cant do it controled. So practice slow and gradually exellarate ;)

I don't like FreeDrumLessons... They might be good drummers, good tips... and of course, there's the quality; the drums is well miked, nice sounding, there's a good image quality, multiple angles... BUT each time I watch one of their videos, I feel like I've been taken for a 5 years old boy. Also, the way it is produce: it's unatural. The drummer looks left, right, left... I prefer a drummer that really explain himself on the spot, how it comes out, rather than a lookalike professional.

there is nothing wrong with Free Drum Lessons. First of all they are virtually free (have to have internet access), helpful, and there seem to be tips for drummers of all levels. I appreciate anyone who takes the time to instruct. Not everyone can afford lessons. Anyone who trashes these needs to take a look in the mirror and evaluate what kind of asshole they really are

ive been playing double bass now for about 4 months and it was all going good but now it seems like my left foot is slowing me down all of a sudden but ive never had this problem before. why is this and how do i fix it?

@pielord1234567 I had the same problem when learning double kick. I've been playing for about 4 years, and my left foot was my weakness. I just tried to focus on keeping my left foot steady and controlled by playing slower to a metronome, then slowly working it up. Also, playing etudes with your feet instead of your hands helps you learn control. Once you get this control issue down, you should start to see a difference when going full speed. Hope that helps :)!

Funny that everybody talks shit about heel down-technique.

Heel down is actually very useful if you've got a bass drum with alot of sound and if you for instance want to play very soft jazz. You get more control of the beater and therefore you can adjust the sound of your bass drum in different ways.

Same thing with hi-hat. You get a different sound when playing heel down than you get with heel up. If you want more sizzling (in jazz for instance), then heel down is recommended.

I can get just as much power from heel down, to heel up. Plus I have way more control with heel down. I'm not being biased, because I play both heels up and heel down, but mainly down.
