He was speaking about how his followers will be persecuted, that they will be rounded up and killed, and wars will be fought to eliminate them. There is a reason why you aren't a theologian, you not only don't comprehend what is being said, but refuse to acknowledge it. Corruption and destruction? Not even close... Pathetic..

@Paulwhoisvegan Next time, why not use the whole quote, let alone point to the book it comes from. It was the discussion of how men, like trees, which fail to "bear fruit" are to be strict down. Not killed, but singled out and punished for their sinful behaviour. It is these sins and this sinful behaviour that is to be cast down, not the man himself.

@Paulwhoisvegan What did you see in Jerusalem following the death of Christ/ Civil unrest and the destruction of the Temple of Solomon. For centuries afterwards, had the persecution and murder of Christians under the Jews, the Romans and later in the Muslims. Tell us again how you are some sort of religious scholar? Go to Wal-Mart and pick up a Bible and ACTUALLY read it!

@Paulwhoisvegan Once again proving you are not a theologian. He was asked how to avoid sin, and as Jesus usually responded, he responded to this as a riddle. Poke out your eyes, cut off your hand, etc It does sound gruesome, and Muslims have taken this literally with their capital punishment system, but the truth is to simply remove temptation.

@cflancop If this book was inspired by god, then he should have been smarter and just told us what he wanted! He should not give riddles, if he truly loves us, he would make it more clear. It seems as if he wants us to go to hell, if he exists, then he must want us to go to hell if he wrote the bible

@Paulwhoisvegan Inspired by God, but flawed because of Man. The Bible is made up for the accounts of Jesus' disciples, and they were unable to full grasp at what was said, but wrote down what it was because of who said it. As for understanding the Bible, why do you think Priests, who teach the book, spend so many years learning it? They go through a college, achieving a Masters/PHD level education in this topic. That is why you should go to Church and not try and translate it yourself!

@Brantoc That is so true! That is why people should not put all of their trust in any form of media. Sure, it's okay to listen to what they say, but it's much better to actually look into the facts. Do your research and FIND OUT what actually happened to the people that the newspeople were talking about, FIND OUT EXACTLY what happened to the people, what they said etc. I don't just take everything the newspeople say and believe it without looking it up.
