@Topoor90 One thing I like about John is that he actually puts his heart and soul in his songs. The reason people don't talk about him constantly (as they do about Miley Cyrus, Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber or Selena "ToneDeaf" Gomez) is that John is not comercialized and he doesn't want to be. And I f***ing appreciate that, because, true artists don't need to build their popularity on tabloid scanadals and/or comercials. And yeah, I love Empyrean,especially Today. Amazing. True work of art.

@soulrebel93 I completely about . . . everything. I am just glad he was able to make it through were jerry , and so many others, did not. Both of their lives at one point or another seem like a coin flip to survival. Anyway, I personally would like to see him, the chili peppers, and the bicycle thief to do a sort of mini-traveling festival. All playing their own stuff and going on stage with everyone else.

A good deal of the lyrics from The Empyrean remind me of matters discussed between Gurdjieff and Ouspensky in the book The Fourth way... notably the struggle to awaken oneself from the mechanical state in which man lives. I think John is well on his way.

Obviously it's open to interpenetration but John Frusciante is a pretty spiritual guy so when I hear that lyric I'm assuming John means that he is thankful for the lessons his spirit learned while his ego (John Frusciante) was out of his way and he was connected to the source of existence/consciousness/God.
