Brilliant version. The detractors - albeit few of them - are just confused because she doesn't do the saccharine histrionics of most modern singers. She doesn't have to show off. She is one of the greatest female singers of all time. The tone of her voice is extraordinary.

I have to say that I do not like this cover version. Lisa's vocal is much too 'controlled'. She's not taking any chances, and she isn't adding any personal touch to her interpretation either. This Queen song in particular requires an awful lot of raw vocal power, so only a few singers alive today would be able to sing it properly. George Michael and more recently Pink are the only singers who have done some really good interpretations that I can think of. But there might be a few more out there.

@Markatta73 Performing IWTBF also requires a whole lotta "drama queen" stage performance. Lisa is just wearing a costume and doing a 'by the book', controlled, night club bluesy cover. IWTBF is one of Queen's most sparkling songs, and it became so popular for exactly that reason. I can't hear or see any of that attitude or energy in Lisa's vague performance. You can't force people to change their personality or vocal, but Lisa was only picked because she was a big British name in 1992, it seems.

@hideyourkidshidewife Me too.....sometimes it really hurts! I grew up listening to Queen and it's just a sad part of music history. I was so lucky though...I saw them at the Oakland Coliseum in 1982. That was my first concert....and the very last show Queen did in the US. It was so fantastic and you knew it was over when "God"Save the Queen started". What a great experience! We still love you Freddie!
