as for the bulls the bulls i dont know why the tails are pulled up so tight. sometimes when we are practicing or just starting out riding bulls we will tie the tail loosely to the bulls leg to stop it from swing it tail as much wich makes it twist around more. alsosome bulls will start spining and act like dogs and chace the tail. so it may be to keep them bucking out straight.

i have been doing rodeo for many years and have worked in the chutes with the bronks and they dont stab the horse. the horses head is tied with a piece of thin rope to stop it from puting its head up and rearing up going backwards over the rails behing it. or putting its head down and laying down in the chute. the knife is to cut the rope not to cut the horse.

Ive known Floyd and Bronc Rumford all my life and many more stock contractors. They are very good people and would do anything to help a stranger in need. They bulls and horses they own to put on there rodeos are what they make there living at. They would not in anyway do anything serious to injure there animals. Bulls and horses are very tough animals. They get hurt worse in the pasture from playing around with one another. Horses kick each other in playful manner. Bulls horn each other too.

Are the rules different in Spain and Portugal? Maybe they just give him a nudge with a pointed object to get him out of the chute. i think its horrible, at my friends we had a fake rodeo when we were younger which meant we rode the horses round at different speeds having highspeed chace, roping...well part of the fence or a post.

never did we use another animal and we diddnt hurt thehorses. we still ride the horses but never attempt rodeo.

we loved playign cowoys but yet again we diddnt knwo the truth back then.

how can they hurt these animals? where other families work so hard to look after animals

@jizahl The horses are trained to buck. If you spur around the neck, the horse is going to buck because it's different than normal. They're trained to buck whenever they have a rider get on them. A bucking horse loves bucking people off. Not even joking. They only have to do 8 seconds of work, then they go back and eat all day. They also get to throw off all of their riders.... it's not abuse. A horse will buck anyway.

Are you serious? If bulls and horses are only lightly poked, they don't start bucking crazily, pretending they are suffering pain. However, when an animal is suddenly stabbed (injections, injury), fearful behaviour is immediate and they react with the startle reflex you see these animals displaying. yes, yes, very true. documentaries are a lot of work but a very effective way to spread the word. A doc. "The Cove" which exposes hidden dolphin slaughters in Japan has hit huge around the world, and is currently up for an oscar in 2010.

Youtube has been very helpful though, to expose such acts that are shown clearly in this video - us, the viewers, have to help spread this content around on social sites and so forth.

Instead of bull-riding involving flanks and knives and bareback (buck) riding, steer-roping, and such, here's a better rodeo:

It starts off with barrel racing, bareback relay-racing (not on a bucking horse), and obsticle course competition. On the second half of the show is Arena Polo (or I should call it Rodeo Polo), which is a scaled down version of regular polo.

Rodeos should be human/aninal bond, not humans tormenting animals.

I remeber when we passed throw spain with the car and our car had then a problem so we stayed for a few days in Albacete.

I was so shocked and really angry when I saw many posters of this rodeo tour in Spain and Portugal.

Knifing animals and shocking them! Sounds like police laws seem not to count in Rodeo. But then again, I am not surprised. Something attracts men to use animals as a tool of entertainment. Maybe it's just their own ego. It's a bit of Irony when they use the song "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed for there little intro song with the bronc horses in the beggining. Don't you think?

Last week there was a rodeo down in NJ. I didn't go but my traner took her students for the barrle racign part since there was agrab for $2500. They said that they went to see the hose part. They said it was bad. They ke[t shoking the horses and all. Purly a show that rodeos do not belong. I feel bad for the horses a cattle. They really do NOT deserve this!!!

SHAUNAMURRAY93: Since this happened in foreign arenas, in places where bulls are routinely stabbed and tortured to death for entertainment, it is highly doubtful anyone even said a word about it.

It's important to realize these are the same people who rodeo here in the US, so there you have proof of the kind of people we work to expose.
