I am a huge fan of the strokes and have been for a long long time now. Having said that i can admit that saying they're better than the Beatles is absolutely ridiculous. Even Julian would think so. If you think this do some research and look at how big the Beatles were in the 60s and how they changed the world. Such comments really discredit the fans of this band.

The Four + Fab literally means The Strokes; The Four referring to Julian, Nick, Nikolai and Albert + Fab, the drummer(whose real name is Fabrizio aka Fab). It's just a fun play on the Beatles' nickname, not an actual statement of the strokes being better :)

The Beatles weren't 'the first' Even if you use the narrow definition of rock music, it had existed for at least ten years before the Beatles. @FilipeDeus7 it actually is Julian... he's the one who wrote ALL music on the first 3 albums, down to the very guitar solo... some of the other members co-wrote a few of the songs on the 3rd album, but the only "democratic" album so far is the 4th = Angles. This being said, when Julian performed some Strokes songs on his solo tour with other musicians than the band members, it didn't sound right, I guess they have this musical chemistry that makes their sound so unique.
