@tyrantdragon000 yes you can. just hold the brake and the gas from a stop. when you go let out the brake and stomp on the gas! haha automatics are actually better if your running a turbo because when you clutch in the power in the turbo goes down but in an automatic the turbos power goes up cause its running higher rpms! but its all in your preference. if you can powershift a manual and do it good. by all means race that! haha (plus you get better mpgs when your not racing with a manual)

My issue is that the race was a little off:

A fuel-injected engine is already going to have a large advantage. So the power difference was great enough, but the Mustang was indeed lighter.

Now... if that was a 408 under the hood of the Mustang, the Mustang would have won hands down. XD

But this race was modern tech vs old tech running on an old chassis. The Mustang has to be respected.

I am now the proud owner of a fully original 1966 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback 289 Hi-Po. It needs a lot of love of certain aspects... power steering, brakes, and some real work needs done on various aspects...

So this video gets me charged up to start working my ass off to restore it to perfect condition.

I'd love to do the ending to various modern-Mustang drivers. As much as I love the classics, I hate the shit out of the new ones.

Yes if given a bone stock auto. Any big name drag racer in 10.5 outlaw is running an automatic. If you build an automatic is is more reliable. a 700r4 with just a corvette servo swap will bark second gear and easily change the .5 second diff.

sure the tranny is bone stock? if it is then might have to do with the gear. my 85 has a 3.27 gear and before it had a real hard shift but never chirped until the servo, and if turning when it changes from first to second my car is kick sideways just from changing if your in it hard
