What happen' to the money raised by the 'Buy a Soldier a Timmy's' project run by the Legion?
In another war charitable groups ran 'canteens' for the troops - coffee and donuts were free. Except for canteens run by the Red Cross, they charged for the stuff. And the soldiers never forgot it.
Tim's apparently donates the 'profit' of the Kandahar operation to military-related charitable groups - but the HST goes to fund the war, or politician's pensions.
@whitmer73 goods and services tax we pay GST/PST (provincial sales tax "which in 5% in my province ontario) all things we buy in canada except for basic groceries, housing and rents, municipal public transit, legal aid, child care. but thats all changed in the last few months, the government decided to take the 8% GST and 5% PST and merge them into the HST (Harmonized Sales Tax)
