  • My favorite shootout scene would probably have to be from "The Way of the gun". Mainly because it used real military tactics in them instead of fake ones.

  • Lol why is Tequila from Strangehold yelling at cop boy?

  • my favorite action sequence was from Heat during the big shoot out but im wondering if the other 6 takes for this scene still exist?

  • No top comment? Now's my chance

  • @Rubentempo fail ^^

  • Damn, that was pretty good.

  • Reminds me of time crisis...you just go in and wreck havoc on everything lol

  • rambo 4 is better

  • Children of men - car scene is a lot better action sequence. One take lasts 3 minutes, and is far more realistic.....

  • @An2quamaraN THe building shootout scene was almost 7 minutes without cuts I think

  • Hard boiled was awesome. More Americans need to watch john woo/chow yun fat collaborations

  • notice how his shotgun and his pistols have no recoil?

  • whaaaAAAAAT?! this is fucking gnarly. it's so well done i'm even willing to forgive the absurd magazines those two guys must have. i'll have to say that either the road chase or bexhill street battle from "children of men" are better, and they're also very, very long takes. if you haven't seen the movie, do so. unbelievable single take action scenes in that, plus just an amazing story, script, EVERYTHING. it'll make you think, if that's not too much trouble for you all.

  • good thing except no one ever reloaded

  • @Guynumber7 and noone actually aimed at them. notice how they all jump out from behind corners with their guns aiming for roof

  • after he reloaded his shotgun in the elevator, he didn't cock his shotgun, thumbs up if you caught it as well

  • @15secretstash Perhaps because a round was already chambered?

  • @15secretstash Because he cocked it at 1:04 and never fired again. Really though that is what you point out, not the never ending magazine in the submachine gun?

  • I don't know if this is the best action sequence ever, but it sure as hell is impressive that they did it undoctored.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=0A8__UZ_BQg&hd=1

  • Impressive work, but can't match the uprising scene in Children of Men.

  • chuck norris directed this

  • @PufuletiSiBenzina dumb ass, if you were smart you would know that john wu did this one.

  • @jimbobhk2009 you retard ever heard of chuck norris jokes?go back to your cave

  • @PufuletiSiBenzina and he spelled Woo wrong lolll

  • @PufuletiSiBenzina yes but if you knew you wouldn't have done it

  • @jimbobhk2009 your logic is amazing

  • Yes... this was epic. Thanks for posting

  • These guys could be talking about what they ate that morning and this would only be more epic

  • BTW, 2:54 was BRUTAL!!!!

  • Holy Fuck why have I never seen this movie before??

  • best fucking action movie ever

  • fuck i wana shotgun those dose that.

  • What a pile of shit. Take a look at 2:12, 2 guys down the hall, why the fuck didn't they shoot? Oh right, because they're going up against the good guys, good guys arent alowed to die.

  • you guys should take a look at old boy, they have a non stop sequence as well but it's close combat

  • HEAT is better, they move here as if they were playing a video game

  • pretty impressive

  • I was thinking 'Oh, another vid on the internet claiming to be the best ever' but then I saw it was the Hard Boiled hospital scene, which IS the best ever. So that was alright.

  • With all do respect, all the audio has in this scene has been done in post production.

  • wht the hell are there so many people with guns in a hospital!!??

  • @extrafresh401 Are you that dumb? Hostages son...

  • what a load of crap is this

  • @JiS01 hard boiled.. directed by John Woo(Mission Impossible)

  • if you cannot understand the magic of this scene then you were born after this film was made and you dont understand it, I have seen this movie when it was just out, its a legend.

  • Notice, if you will, that the vicious character Mad Dog, wearing grey jacket and caring the large assault rifle, hold similar appearance and demeanor to Arnold Schwarzenegger in James Cameron's The Terminator. Especially since he wears the same gloves and has the very same type of eye injury as the Terminator did in the film (without glasses in this case, of course) 3:02

  • Unilimited ammo

  • Dear god its like goldeneye 64 with all the explodeing objects

  • Worst not best

  • @Pappi1901 this scene is amzing.. how much action movies have that continuous sequence without any cuts? NONE.

  • This reminds me of COD when im playing against retards

  • What the hell is Kato doing here? lol And why is he using guns???

  • I can see where animes like Black Lagoon got their inspiration from!

  • i wish more action films had more shots like this one

  • This scene is good, but the best long shots I've ever seen are in Children of Men. Check out the 'Uprising' scene from that. It's the best long-shot I've ever seen from what is easily one of my favourite films, ever.

  • I never really understand why western movies rarely do this, but eastern ones seem to have perfected the technique of long single shot scenes.

  • 2:56 - Tony Montana survived his last film???

  • It's Sao Feng!! :D

  • It's like madness but real

  • its a little bit like playing a video game, except the camera moves a bit more lol. its cool

  • everything you see in this video is real, except for the way the characters die.

I can see the 9mm MP-5 and Beretta not launching them backwards, but the .12 Gauge could have a bit better 'launch' when it hits a body.

For all of you saying this is corny, and no reloads. Count the shotgun. i count 8? shells. MP-5 uses all 30 rounds, and the Beretta only 12 or 14.

The smoke, Giblets and chunks of shrapnel and debris all over are VERY realistic. Best movie since HEAT.

  • @laffyta2 Bodies don't get launched when hit with projectiles fired from guns. Even if they are shotguns.

  • @ohlookabunny John Woo films are not constrained by petty things such as physics!

  • @ohlookabunny Really?

In the Military, I've seen the point blank blast from a 5.56 from an A2 throw someone through a door.

A .20 Gauge blow a heavy door plum off it's hinges, and, while I never got to see anyone launched by a .20 gauge, I saw a kid accidentally shot by a .410.

His arm flew up over him and threw him off of a 2 - story building.

Tell me again bodies don't get launched by guns.

The Ft.-Lbs. of a .45 hitting you will send you somewhere. A .22 maybe not.

  • @laffyta2 There's no way in hell a person was thrown through a door by a small high-velocity projectile like a 5.56. Maybe they stumbled back and went through it. Otherwise, impossible.

A .20 won't blow a door off its hinges. Absolutely not.

Mythbusters also couldn't knock a dummy over with a shotgun.

I've seen plenty of people get shot, not a single one was thrown. In the head, in the chest, whatever.

Bodies don't get launched by guns.

  • @ohlookabunny You saw it on Mythbusters, huh.

    Dude, get a fucking life.

I remember Ballistic Gel tests with the gel being the same density as a human body (A 200-Lb. man, 6'4") and size rocked with a .270. Now, while an elk or a deer may not fly because of their weight, the ballistic gel vaporized in areas and sent the replica dummy flying about 5 feet from where it was. A Remington LRN DOES throw someone, they don't weigh much and the round will catch enough meat to throw someone.

  • @laffyta2 I like that you completely ignored everything else I said and latched onto the part about the show. I also invite you to stop coming up with ad hominen attacks on me, as if the fact that I once saw something related on a show discounts the entirety of my opinion. Obviously you ignored the part where I said I have seen lots of people get shot.

You are clearly unfamiliar with physics; if a bullet throws someone x distance, the person firing the gun would be thrown x distance.

  • worst action scene ever

  • i like the part where they hardly ever reload

  • THERE WAS A FIREFIGHT

  • @TheSilentOne50 Now THAT was the best minutes of one hell of a movie!

  • It's like Call of duty Story mode on easy , you never get shot

  • why is it that every japanese action movie has a crapy gun fire sound but awesome scenes?

  • i want an infinite ammo clip to :(

  • this is how the COD movie would look like.

  • Cheesy...

  • Azn scarface at the end lawl

  • Damn, i wish current HK movies were like this. Nowadays is shit mostly.

  • Holy Shit! That just blew my mind! Yay for Random, Senseless Violence!

  • reminds me of call of duty. 2 on 100, totally.

  • there always a dick who shows up with a noobtube

  • Bad guys always have shitty aim.

  • 0:27 "Aw, dude, you shot him in the dick."

  • the best part was when he actually reloaded

  • Think about how badly it costed them every time they messed up. All those explosions had to be re-set up and all those windows and props had to be replaced. Holy fuck.

  • It's sad that we will probably never see anything this epic made again in this shit cinema cgi world now. John Woo is amazing!

  • asian people are good with guns

  • They should have tactical nuke by now? Nice killstreak :p

  • @SoleSurvivor259 CoD talk isn't tolerated here.

  • awesome!!!

  • awesome

  • stupid and gay

  • wow you people in this comment section can stick your nasty fucking snide remarks about this scene up your ass! go back to your CGI shit fests of movies u like watching and go back to sucking bays cock.

  • @digioverlord amen brother

  • this needs to be a first person shooter

  • @BBnanner Are you serious? There is a game made from this movie on ps3

  • hm they are always shooting in the balls...

  • this movie bored the shit outta me

  • amazing!

  • no 480p? just 360 and 720?

  • 106 people got boiled hard

  • John Woo is IMO the best action movie director ever!

  • I saw this & though it was going to be BS. That was badass!!! At 2:53 he gets a kill that was such a badass win! The guy with the AK-47.

  • Watch the moment as the camera goes up to the cop that is accidentally shot as he leaves the elevator... the action slows and just as it begins to pan back to Tony there is a "jump" and the dying guy's gun hand can be seen to shift. Also the bodies in the background are in different positions that before. It's a CUT! The second part of this scene must be from a different take.

  • @BcallingDB that isnt a cut, thats john woo physically slowing down the shutter speed of the camera for a slow mo effect during the filming of the take, he does it again in 2:19 when the two cops switch sides.

when they say there was no post processing in this scene, they mean it. every single explosion, shot, spark, dust puff and even the slow mo esque effects were actual pyrotechnics and sequenced in real time.

  • @fludblud Just look at the gun hand and the bodies in the background. The gun hand jumps a bit and the bodies are in different positions. It's not post processing and effects, just the putting together of two takes. One had a better beginning and the other a better end. So they put them together in the edit suite.

  • @BcallingDB nope, the smoke is still the same and the bodies and every single bit of dirt is still in the same position. ive seen the dvd commentary and it explicitly mentions the cut lasts for 2 minutes and 40 seconds.

unless you can prove that hundreds of people on the production team have made some kind of 20 year long conspiracy about hiding one bloody cut, im far more likely to believe their words (and my eyes) than some random guy on the internet hallucinating cuts.

  • @fludblud LMAO

Dude, just look at the piece of wood under the bench as Tony turns to shoot... it is not there after the cut that I am supposedly "hallucinating" but it is further away next to a body. And if you can't see the sudden lighting change and the quite obvious upon close inspection cut, than I cannot help you lack of observation.

Also, right where Chow Yun Fat is standing, a body disappears... since it moves as does everything else.

  • @BcallingDB I don't see anything wrong. So yes, you are hallucinating.

  • @BcallingDB Oh wait, scratch that. If you look closely, there is a (very subtle) cut at around 1:09

  • @brenthud2170 Bravo. You found it.

  • Am I the only one who keeps getting reminded of old arcade shooters while watching this?

  • nice music and sound effects. Agree w/ sorted6996. :)

  • Phuck that! They using aimbot!

  • For everyone saying they never run out of ammo, no, the reload and limit themselves, this is all one shot from .07-2.50

  • Nice aimbot

  • I can't this got so many likes, it's fucking pathetic and so lame.

  • @jozeaphe Because you're an idiot.

  • Happiness is endless ammo and never needing to reload.

  • this shit sucks even my little girl iphone can make beterr effect than that bs i just seen.

  • @deathsoap What effect? How about you try looking at the goddamn screen before spouting bullshit.

  • 1:03 FAIL

  • Usually a long one shot action scene is a bad idea because it can totally ruin the effect and make things look ridiculously stupid. Revealing things the director doesn't want you to see, like people waiting for their cue or just really awkward staging in general. Here it works, cause they mainly keep the camera in one position for a good while and try to limit the panning.

  • @UwasaWaya I must agree.

  • Apparently reload isn't an option.

  • @blackcloud2496 There's a glitch in John Woo's films that lets actors cancel their reload animation.

  • @UwasaWaya Being a gamer and action movie fan, I LOL'd!

  • you idiot, check THE PROTECTOR (2005) staring tony jaa, that is the best action movie ever made !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all scenes are 1000 x times better than this shit

  • Yes The Protector's long shot was pretty good, but remember this was done in 1992 - 13 years before. You might want to remember that the next time you call anything shit.

  • @vdias HMM THE TITLE says Ever Filmed !! so it doesn;'t matter when it was made.. so if idiot is not the word for you which is it? lol

  • @wikipediaGojiitaAF Does it make you feel like a big man, calling people idiots and things that clearly aren't shit as shit? I accept that this isn't the "Best Action Sequence Ever Filmed" but it's legendary in the Hong Kong action cinema and still pretty awesome for something made in 1992.

  • @vdias ok I'll drop it

  • @wikipediaGojiitaAF The Protector is a martial arts movie, you moron. Show some respect for the guy who gave birth to half the cool shit you see in action flicks today.

  • I heard that one of the characters in this movie inspired Wild Dog in the Time Crisis series, is that true?

  • @Ebb1993isgreat ni zai shuo shen me ?

  • @ktlshyqs Hm?

  • wow no 480p, it jumps 360p to 720p

  • 0:27... shot the guy in the crotch =[

  • #Killing Spree

  • All in one shot? That whole scene??? FUCKING KUBRICKED THAT SHIT!!!

  • I could swear there is a jump cut at 1:11. Never noticed it before.

  • If you think this is a hardcore one-shot scene, watch "Children of Men". The incredibly long one-shot fights there are the best action scenes I've ever seen.

  • @blackicede Done with computer assistance. While it looks good, it's not as impressive.

  • wtf? he needs to reload once in awhile

  • IRL Contra?

  • its cuts as soon as there is a boss battle

  • this is like a video how they just take out all these bad guys in a row like its easy.

  • @ciscokidseven john woo inspired max payne

  • Nice quality man!

  • Freddiew...

  • Canto cops are beast.

  • That is alot of dead asians

  • The only thing I do not like about this scene is the lack of relaoding for the MP5, I mean common, he shoots it like he had a 100 round drum, if they even make one for the gun. He reloads like once and shoots like 15 bad guys with it.

  • @SSSDiaz7 That's a John Woo trademark: bottomless magazines.

  • I HATE HOSPITALS TOO...

  • Director: "CUT! that was awful, back to one, people!"

    Everyone: "AAAWWWW!!!"

  • Just like commando.... they never run out of ammo

  • curve zee bullet!!!!!

  • Cross overs are Woo-tastic.

  • "children of men" top this - but this is great

  • a muito tempo estou procurando este filme gosto muito dele valeu ai

  • lol this action scene was WAY before his time, if u didnt watch this movie u wont know it, Hard Boiled was one of the best actions movies ever made.

  • @zenzation23 together with Leon the Professional

  • Stupid AI

  • Absolutely no director alive can hold a candle to John Woo when it comes to action. Not since Sam Peckinpah have we had such a master. The only film of his I like better than this is The Killer, a brilliant remake of Melville's Le Samourai.

  • @KernelGaddafi funny, the matrix and equilibrium were inspired by johm woo movies.

  • What makes this "Best Action Sequence Ever Filmed"!?!!

It running from one spot to another shooting whoever they run into.

    This is CRAP.

  • @nordfjellBrandt lolwut? you have absolutely no clue what skill and patience it takes to do a scene like this.

A oneshot scene is a challenge everytime. a oneshot of a Action scene which includes shooting is absolutely stunning.

  • @nordfjellBrandt NEEDS MOAR CGI AND SWEET BALLET MOVES

  • For this you couldn't have normalized the audio right?

    Thumb down on you!

  • Comment removed

  • ah unlimited sub-machine magazine.... we meet again

  • Nice cinematography, but for realistic gunplay, this has nothing on Heat, Way of the Gun, or Saving Private Ryan.

  • Lol the bad guys, just round round corners and shoot at the ceiling.

You guys should check out the corridor scene in Oldboy, or the hotel ascend shot from The Protector (Tony Jaa).

  • best comic action scene of all time? maybe, as for best action scene, never! there are shoot outs much better then this in cinema. every ation scene in saving private ryan pisses all over this! infact this aint even the best action scene in asian cinema, check out the scene in warrior king or the killer!

  • Sorter scene from Revolver is much better than this!!

  • Looks like we have a Chinese Arnold Schwarzenegger.

(I remember seeing this on a train ride in China and thinking that XD )

  • Still like the lobby scene from matrix best. This is good too, though.

  • No in camera FX means all practical FX were filmed on location or in the studio. No post FX were added Everything you see happened there with the actors and stunt men, That's what the owner of the vieo means. . A cut has nothing to do with that.
