  • Where's our goddamn hoverboards!

  • @jp3813 hahaha

  • they have smthin like that in japan but waaaayy cooler!

  • its more easy using the kinect XD

  • Fake? What a stupid-ass thing to say. This technology is very current and is being used in limited fashion. It's a "PROTOTYPE" of what was used in Minority Report, which was indeed "faked" but the real technology exists!

  • HOLY SH*T. I WANT THAT IN MY HOUSE. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE.

  • Completely FAKE. Images aren't moving based on hand gestures at ALL.

Instead, what's REALLY happening here, is that it's all pre-programmed, and the guy practices how he should move his hands.

In some cases, the pictures even move BEFORE the guy moves his hand.

    FAKE !

  • No, it is not fake. Thousands of people used the system. It was back in 2004, so I have no commercial/whatever interest in writing this (I never sold this system, by the way, it was only a research prototype). Your (wrong) impression is due to the fact that the system was touchless, i.e. sensed the user hand also at some distance (about 25cm) from the screen surface. Regards and compliments for your deep insight in interactive technology.

  • alevalli is right

  • @a1mint Go over to ted.com and look up John Underkoffler, he's the inventor of the Minority Report data interface. It is 100% real, and he even says within 5 years when you buy a computer it will come with one.

  • @a1mint dumbass

  • "gorilla arms"

  • It is just like touch transparent screen... What Processor this thing require????

  • New transparant OLED displays. Also: back to the drawing board

  • Is it still considered touch even though they're are holograhic images appear and not an actual physical interface, unless you count camera movement as direct interface.

  • it's stupid. nobody's going to buy this

  • @MBogie203 It's a prototype. It's not even gonna be on the market. You can't jump straight to the finished project. This is called research.

  • @MBogie203 I sure as would.

  • AW that's not MR. MR uses an entirely different concept!

  • you guys speak like you know what actual math and algorithms this technology is using. if you dimwits had any idea what so ever about spatial GUI interactions and the kind of tech mapping it uses, you would see this is the precursor to such things. this is why putting college level and post college level tech demos on youtube is pointless. a bunch of idiots and 12 year olds putting their worthless 2 cents in about technology they don't even know how it works.

  • your right I fell that way too

  • ROFFLEWAFFLE2006, i'd admit i have no idea about the probable pages of algorithms involved with this, but i liked the demo alot. i'd say if you use it for a while you'd get a stiff shoulder though.

  • lol is just a software to make it with your pc :D Motion plus

  • thats cool

  • this is touchless

  • minority report my ass, this is touch technology, the only tech. i know that exists is G-Speak by Oblong Ind., uses Spatial operating environment, beta technology was actually used in the movie itself

  • wrong, the tech wasn't invented until 2006 by Oblong. the movie in 2002 was done in green-screen

  • Alot of videos on Youtube claim they demonstrate Minority Report Style interfaces.

In the film the don't touch a screen.

  • You know what, i agree.

  • I just finished watching this on lipmic dot com, and i must say that im nota fan of this movie. the concept and the paradox expressed is great, but to me, all this seems too scientifically fictional...

  • Yes but the plot was great how although it really twisted and turned, you could still follow it.

  • haha, "Last Samurai". How appropriate.

  • Thanks

  • Can anyone point me in the direction of creatives in this industry uk based.

  • Do you mean were they are developing such stuff in the UK or were they sell or showcase this stuff? Since this kind of technology is still under development so it wont be on sale for a good while yet. Showcases would be at expos's most likely venued in London or edinburgh. If your looking for places developing this technology try Sony uk

  • If it does happen it would probably be a chance for me to tell God if I see him since he doesnt seem to listen to anyone not even in prayers that I have a formal complaint about how much mess Earth is in and ask if there is anyone else that could take over, preferably a women because face it a women would not create such a mess.

  • hahahaha this is so true, no woman would create such a mess!

  • You folks don't know a lot of women do you...

  • Unless its a cute dizzy girl, women make mistakes intentional as part of some scheme of theirs or they correct it to save face.

  • i'm sometimes disgusted by my own lack of empathy and intolerance, but that doesn't make me classic misanthropist. we ARE in this mess, and this IS happening, ergo we must learn to get along with who/what we've got. and yes, I agree - a matriachal global leadership would not have seen us in this mess...

exactly where we'd be is a moot point, though.

    A Man

  • furtherly regardless of the opinion/evidence that we could be binary floating round a CPU, I do believe in a God - even if he is the VDU operator.

let's take our happiness and humour in every place we can find it - this is no dress rehearsal...

  • GAAAY! lol

  • get an F* life. is one word all you can contribute?!

  • what the hell did you even say in your first 2 posts?

  • ufo tech...

  • multitouch and such applications have been available since the mid 80s... it's only now that they're accessible to all.

  • This would be awesome for channel surfing on television.

  • I always knew someday someone would invent what Tom Cruise used in MR. Nice to know someone is evolving technology to achieve it already, though it's in the "wright bros flyer" stage right now.

  • that is soooooooo cooooool!! the future is here!!B-D

  • MULTI-TOUCH! Ya... not so impressive once you've seen multi touch...

  • youd have to be right next to it at all times to control it...

  • Nice but a rip-off of Jeff Hahn's work and not even a good rip-off as Jeff Han has a MULTI-TOUCH interface: notice how here you can only use 1 hand at a time and check out Han's interface.. Much better!

  • oooooOOOOOOoooooo

  • Right! It's for public spaces, short and intense interaction experiences...

  • It looks good, but it isn't something you'd want to use for a long duration task, as your arms would get tired.

  • yes! but what if you dont have any arms

  • lmao

  • Use your feet, or your head.

  • LOL fs

  • interesting... ;)
