What's the exit when you use the key? Where does it lead to? The Star Road?

I'm doing my first run on SMW. I've reached castle 7 and I finished the whole Star Road so technically I could have killed Bowser but I kept it until the end.

Well, does it lead to the Star Road or something else? I'm not 'wasting' my time trying to get Yoshi with me till the end of this level. You're forced to break the line at the middle of this level and so you can't get Yoshi if you die, cause you spawn in the mid.

This one links to the star road but you should beat every level in every exit to get the 96* rating anyways so I recommend doing this.

I died once in my run to Valley Of Bowser but the original version you don't get so many lives and it gets reset to five at the end of each session.
