We use to play shows together throughout San Diego and L.A in the 90's, Blink 182, Korn, Pennywise, Switchfoot & Incubus. Besides Incubus and Korn all of these bands are originally from San Diego. Well, Mark and Tom both have different point of views about what happened. I think that Tom might not have handled the fighting and the whole, general situation well because of the drugs he was on at the time, but maybe Mark could've taken a step back, assessed the situation as well, and maybe, I dunno... I think this could've been handled better is all. Mark seemed a bit too defensive, when he should have just listened a bit.

@georgioman01 Tom is biased so obviously it's going to come out as "wah, I'm the victim." but Mark, Tom, and Travis have all admitted that the initial arguments that led to the breakup was because of Tom's desire to take a break from the band. Also, look at interviews in like 05 and 06, Mark used to talk badly about Tom whereas Tom has always said he doesn't hate them or resent them, it simply wasn't what he wanted to do at the time.

Regardless of what side or story you believe, this is just a matter of growing up and growing apart. It happens to EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE. Tom Mark and Travis made a wonderful band and even though they are back together they will never be exactly as they were. And THAT is what a true fan-base or friendship is about. besides that you can get a higher sound quality from a computer based recording setup than you could with say, a tape deck.
