Top 3 Cure songs in my book,... which means top 8-10ish of all the songs I have ever heard in my life. Being tri-lingual and a music lover says a lot. Love the lyrics and song so much...
Actually it's no demo but a finished song. It was released as a bonus download for people who purchased "Bloodlfowers" at a certain retailer (can't remember which one)
I've always loved this song. I love the dynamics, how all the music swells when Robert's at his most plaintive, then saunters wistfully back to the main riff again. Thematically, musically, it strikes me as quite different than anything else they've done. In terms of b-sides and such, it's the "2 Late" for Bloodflowers (both songs were just too upbeat to fit on their albums, I mean).
that's all you have to say about the song? you have nothing to say about the words? I know I feel songs for the music, but the words have a huge part of importance as well. give the song a listen would you and get back on the meaning of the song aswell.
I've already mentioned Robert's plaintiveness, and how it's thematically different than other songs. I think the words speak for themselves plainly & clearly enough that they don't need me to explain them. I will add that for a succesful rock star - the epitome of careers for most idle dreamers - to be inspired to write lyrics like this, is very impressive.
Instead of me talking about the lyrics, why not yourself? Your thoughts are as valid as mine, or anyone else's. Go for it! :)
Agreed. CCC has brilliant music and hilariously pointed lyrics. Really marvelous. But perhaps CCC was a bit hostile & inflammatory, and Spilt Milk a little more conciliatory.
AND WITH EVERY DAY THAT I LET GO
IT'S ONE DAY LESS I EVER KNOW
IF IT'S ALWAYS
ALWAYS TOO LATE...

Simply the best under rated b-side. Perfect crescendo from pop to desperation.

Sure a B-side.
By Cure standards pretty weak song, but still better than 99% of the stuff that gets played on radio!

@Phyle9 by Cure Standards it's a great song. I love it more than many of the classic great Cure songs. Agreed with what you said about radio though.

Robert Smith should have included this little gem on the Join The Dots (2004) box set instead of the Out Of This World remix.

Maybe a bit more inflammable, instead of inescapable apart from Irresistable, with a hint of undeniable, and a sprinkle of hospitable.
Apart from that, you need to heat the imparable WITH the inescabale. And then you just eat what you got.
