  • very helpful thx

  • Thanks for the response. Too bad I'm a pc lady! It reminded me very much Bill Evans.

  • Loved the video - am checking out GH2 images and video in anticipation of the arrival of mine. Have to admit though that as much as I loved the video, I loved your choice of music. Who is it?

  • @isabel95 Actually the music was just one of the apple loops included in Soundtrack Pro... really nice tho isn't it? It's amazing the sort of music that's included with soundtrack - that's Apple's attention to detail for you!

  • is the 14-42mm a good thing to start with? i see some deals online give you the camera with that one and other more expensive options have the 14-140mm? did you find the 14-42 sufficient?

  • @Tallaias The 14-140 is definitely a better lens and of course gives you more distance but we love our 14-42 and find that we use it much more because it's light and gives us plenty of range for most video work. We never really use the 14-140 fully zoomed in. I guess if you're doing wildlife video then maybe you would. We don't so we find the 14-42 all we need! And it's much cheaper!

  • Did you get your GH2 in Singapore? Does it have a 30minute video limit? Thanks!

  • @jetrockers04 Yep got ours in Singapore - Pal version - nope it doesn't have the 30min video limit. It's awesome - can record for as long as the SD card has memory and as long as your battery will run. We just got a couple of 128gb sd cards - which can record for 13 hours straight.

  • @BananaManaTV Thanks man! Was worried that panasonic applied the 30minutes limit to all PAL GH2. I'm so certainly going to get this as my "camcorder"... thanks for the great video too... it erased my doubts about its low light performance...

  • @jetrockers04 No worries - yep we love the low light performance. And if you check out the recent hack by Vitaly online - you'll see that the GH2 can do even better in low light - has much better resolution and preservation of detail compared with canon 5d.

  • HOW DID U GET VIDEO CLIPS ON UR COMP?

my mac wont let me import any

  • @SachiBahra Macs are pretty gay

  • @SachiBahra It should work if you launch iMovie and import directly. Otherwise we used Final Cut 6.0.6 which recognizes the SD card when you use log and transfer. That's the fastest workflow: plug SD card into SD card reader (slot in imac if you have one) then launch final cut 6.0.6 or later and use LOG AND TRANSFER. You should see all your videos pop up and you can even place in and out points to import.

  • The low-light performance of this camera is ridiculously good. Makes want to buy it mostly because of that. If Panasonic had any kind or stabilized prime, ot fast zoom, at least, it would be a dream for low-light video shooters. Any idea if such a lens is coming, Bananators??

    Thanks guys, very useful vid.

  • @1650million We love the low light performance! We find for the web - even ISO 3200 is really useable. Then stick a fast lens on and you have great low-noise images. We love the 20mm pancake - it's f1.7 which is great and very reasonably priced. We also have a Nikon 50mm from ages ago f1.4. Also great in low light. If you get a prime like that (for about $200) you're pretty set. Lenses I'd recommend: Tokina 11-14 f2.8, Panasonic pancake 20mm f1.4, nikon 50mm f1.8/1.4.

  • @BananaManaTV I have the Canon T2i. I've only posted one video made with it (7yo plays Kinect Adventures). I normally use a Sony hdr-cx150 for video but I'm enjoying the video quality of the Canon much more. I may start allocating SD cards to the Canon to use it more. But I dislike the 12 minute video limit on the Canon (@1080 res) and the lack of a quiet autofocus. Once I can manually focus quicker with the Canon it may become my primary video device (except for known long videos).

  • @andreo I've heard the T2i is great. Really popular. Yeah the dSLRs are just beautiful to work with. We love the quiet autofocus on the GH1 or GH2 - the kit lens I love the most is actually the 14-42mm. It's cheap and good! Quiet and fast autofocus and the GH2 has touch to focus - using the screen - putting up some tests soon. Also they have a function where it follows faces automatically - very cool. I think panasonic has a restriction too - but it's about 29 mins for video.

    Jason.

  • Darn it. Every time I see video like this I want to head out somewhere with my camera. Keep it up. The videos are great.

  • @andreo mee to but i have the fz100, i will buy this one next. because of its long shutter speed, and nice low light performence, but i will be stickinh with a 14 through 50mm lens, and a 20 through 200mm or 600 if i could find one :)
